Hi!

Just to say I installed the ROM on my U8180 (it is the Portugal version from local operator Optimus). It works very well on it, the only thing I had to search for was another image for recovery mode, however after a google search, it was easy to install, just follow the instructions and it was done (if anyone wants I can share the image I found).

The phone its much better now, more responsive and much more design appealling.

Thanks for this, and PLEASE say something when android 4.0 is ready for this phone...

You sir, are a legend. This is exactly what I was after.
Is all hardware working correctly?
Overclocked? (looked like yes when I skimmed through forum)
Baseband hasn't changed? (I think this only happens with an official base firmware flash, which kills ability to get onto telecom network 850mhz).
Will try out later.
Oh and what is battery life like now?

This is a fully functional CM7.1 port. All hardware works perfectly with the exception of 3rd party camera apps.

Overclock is 600MHz by deault, but you can put it a bit higher. 690 would be my recommended limit.

Still uses the original baseband and battery life is slightly lower than Froyo, but thats an acceptable tradeoff for a much much faster ROM.

ICS won't be relased for this till CM9 is final or close to it, There is still a lot to be done, it is currently very unstable on this phone but it is slowly getting there.

Any chance of including the original (factory) version of touchpal?
The rom is noticeably faster!

This purely a port of CyanogenMod. I'm going to be customising it in any way. When ICS is ready for release I'll also post up the separate Telecom NZ customisation package I've made.

You should be able to get the old keyboard out of the stock 2.2 ROM easy enough.

can u pls tell me where can i find a original rom for orange? as my phone uis orange branded, or pls post here a original rom link to download! as i would like to flash the original and try to start from the begining to root, flash CW recovery and CW rom in the end?

I'm not going to be releasing anymore updates to this ROM as I no longer have a U8180.

The original source ROM I was using now properly supports the U8180 and it can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259739

Download and install over the top.
