Nooooiiiiiccccce, downloading now on 2D.

Strangely, it looks like it is available on NZC and VNZ, but not TNZ. Hopefully they will be not far behind.

EDIT: Installed, and apart from an initially sticky H+ connection, seems fine. Yay for dark mode everything

Android 10 + Dec 1st 2019 security patch finally arrived for Spark this morning. What I don't get is why it's only come with the Dec 1st 2019 security patch? I know it's the same for those of you on NZC & VF, not just TNZ. While it's better to have a three month old security patch rather than a (two days shy of) four month old one, it's still unacceptable for a phone this age and this expensive imo, and breeches what Samsung state on their website:

https://security.samsungmobile.com/securityUpdate.smsb

"Please note that in some cases regular OS upgrades may cause delays to planned security updates. However, users can be rest assured the OS upgrades will include up-to-date security patches when delivered."

I'd love to know why, when newer security patches are obviously available for other phones both older and newer than the Note 9. The S10 and Note 10 are all on February 1st, and even the Note 8 and S9 got the January 1st security patch some weeks ago (albeit on Pie). Makes no sense to me!

Looks like Samsung is forgetting about Note 9 not very good, my old Note 8 2 Degrees got security update this morning for 1 February 2020 so i was really surprised as thought i was on quarterly updates with this phone and now i've had 2 security updates in 1 month.

Feb 1st security patch is currently downloading (TNZ). :D

Might we assume that since we're jumping straight from Dec 1st to Feb 1st in security patches, that this patch will include everything from the January 1st patch we missed out on?

Same for 2degreez, guess we are back on schedule now that the hoo-ha of one ui 2.0 has died off.

Again, I'm pretty sure they did the same thing last year. Or they included the Jan patch in the update.

Hi all,

A question: I decided a little while ago to move back to the Apple ecosystem, and therefore sold my Note 9. Before shipping it to the buyer, I used the internal file manager to format the SD card, then did a full factory reset. When the phone rebooted with the initial setup screen, I turned it off and shipped it. Also to note - I updated the firmware to Android 10 (via OTA on Spark firmware) before I reset it.

After the new owner got the phone, they sent me a message asking me to remove the phone from my Google account. They said the phone was "asking for a Google account". i tried to explain that the phone was probably just asking for A (as in any) google account as part of the setup process, but the buyer insisted that it wanted my personal Google account, and I should remove it. The device was still listed in my google account, and I removed it "signed out". I haven't heard back from the buyer.

On the one hand, this may just have been some confusion on the buyer's part - not getting how the initialization process on the device works. On the other hand, it's been a while since I sold one of my old Galaxy devices, and I don't know if there are some new "features" that have been released since my last go-around. As far as I am aware, a factory wipe leaves you with what is functionally a new phone - it should not know (or have any mechanism to know) whether the device was ever logged in to a former user's account. Has something changed that I'm not aware of?

Just asking.
