I've just been into my local Vodafone and WHS store (Newmarket, Auckland).

Vodafone have no idea when they will receive stock of the Pebble Blue, yet took an order from someone while I was in the shop without telling them of the delay.

WHS confirmed they will have Pebble Blue (16gb) for launch. The very helpful assistant rang someone at head office and confirmed orders are on track. They even called me back to double confirm that 5 blue will be available from the Newmarket store. Fingers crossed they are right as I'm about to pre order with them. Sometimes it pays to support the little guys.....

Retail stores only can see what's on order, not what actually coming. If the supplier don't have stock than the order will not be fulfilled.

There is definitely a delay in Pebble Blue Galaxy SIII stock shipment and there's a high likelihood we get'em a week after release date. This delay will affect all retails nationwide and even globally I heard.

So if you say WHS have the S3 ordered in the system, at least you know they will have it as soon as supply available for shipment.

I know of a retailer that had a lot of units on order, and that order has been substantially cut. They still do not know if they are getting any for launch.

Nice one Samsung, were you intending to do an Apple?

In my own discussion with WHS just now - they expect 5-10 instore, stock has not arrived at the distribution centre yet (he says they will call me as soon as stock arrives at the DC, although I will still have to wait until the release date to get it).

By the sound of things if they don't have them at the distribution center now then they will not have them until at least the 8th, pebble blue ones that is!

Man what a massive let down this all is.

I wonder what VF get from doing a promo on a $90 package but not offering decent discounts on their higher end contracts?

I wonder who I could talk to at VF about this?

It's actually substantially better for me to move to Telecom at this point from a cost perspective.

I would imagine all XT resellers are just offering the standard deals available through any XT Store or am I mistaken?

call customer service and ask if there's a 'customer retention' person/team you could speak to. let them know your genuine concerns and i'm sure if there's anything that can be done, they'll sort you out.

I hope this rumour is not true. I am seriously going to be pissed if I have to wait that long to get my S3.

Probably because we're a lower priority market than say the UK. There must be some production issue affecting throughput of the blue devices...

They probably did make more, just NZ isn't high on their priority list.
