Cheers for that tip. Been doing some reading and that will be the issue.
Just weird it's only an issue in 2.3 ROMs and not 2.2 for me.

Doing some reading on how to discover a hidden SSID. Yet to find an app that will do it without disabling SSID first, or at least knowing the SSID.

In other news CM7 is good and will probably be my choice in the end.

Yea CM7 is good, youl find you will probably go between stock looking roms like redux and back to CM7 and back again lol... DevNull is another good one its only 46mb or something (the whole ROM) so saves a tone of space and its really really fast. Its made by the same guy who made oxygen.

Yeah after seeing how easy it is to back up and restore with titanium, and how easy flashing is, it's no bother to go "Oh I'll try that one"

Space I am happy to say is no longer an issue now I have run the apps to ext script. It worked on all ROMs I have tried so far. By the time I fill up what I have left, I'll be looking at a new phone I think! even with maps and google earth on the internal memory I still have about 130mb free.
Before I started rooting I was down to 14mb

Wicked App! I'm going to use it when I start my new job next week to log open wifis!

I use CM7 (unofficial mik_os ROM) on my LG P500 and it rocks!

The plot thickens!
Get to work this morning and no WiFi!
Tried scanning several times, even uninstalled the app and deleted its log file and can't see it. Tried manually entering what I think is the SSID from the log. Nothing works.

WiFi pwnz me :(

Ok, so that's not the SSID. Have since confirmed the SSID by checking on the laptop here that is connected to it.
Hidden SSID enabler accepts it.
Still can't see or connect to it.
Very weird!!

yea its definitely annoying as hell lol, generally what i do is keep mucking around and getting more mad and more mad by the minute until ive played so much everything force closes and i have to do a full wipe and re flash lol... same with PC's, i started themeing my laptop the other say and i messed up the registry files and system files so bad i had to reinstall windows lol, far to tired to be playing with reg files... drive me nuts but so addictive playing with stuff.

Yikes, that sort of thing is well above me lol!
thats why I know like these ROMs. It's pretty simple to try new ones.
I just have to get my apps backing up better to make that a bit faster.
It's pretty annoying having to reinstall and set them up from scratch

QtADB is really good for apps and stuff, i have all my .apk's in a desktop folder on my laptop and i just drag them into the data/app folder of my ROM after install and bing bang boom 50 or 60 apps installed in like 3 minutes. awesum.

I think youd have to be S-OFF though because /system is R/O by default if i remeber correctly.

actually scrap the QtADB should work fine without S-OFF as its not the system folder. Also it wont backup app data but unless youve nearly clocked angry birds... who cares! lol... Man far to much coffee today.

That's where titanium backup works, it saves the data too, you can restore 1 app at a time (about 30 mins for 65 apps) with the free version, or get pro and do them all in a couple of minutes. It knows if they were on SD as well
