pih: Not a bad price at all, I think I might get one too (no drops here yet either...)

Got it but don't like it - doesn't fully cover the phone at the bottom so bought another one!  Also I wanted blue not dusky grey.

Another $5.99(US) but hardly expensive

I buzzed an image of the System Info from my HTC Magic running at 780MHz....as you do. :-)

I then went to some cities overseas to see what was buzzing there. You can see any buzz in any place.

I now have to keep 2 versions of Maps on the N1 - the one with Buzz, and the one that has been hacked to allow Navigation - annoying

[EDIT]

I underestimated the skill of the Android hackers. Here is Maps 4.0 hacked to allow out of US navigation

Hey guys i finally received my N1 yesterday after waiting for it for 3 weeks! I also switched from prepay to on account voda. Now my prob is When i was still on prepay, i can use 3g with no problem but when i switched to on account i cant access the 3g network. I think it has something to do with the APN settings but sadly i know nothing about it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

My settings are as follows:
Name: Vodafone NZ
APN: www.vodafone.net.nz
Proxy/Port/Username/Password/Server:
MMSC: null (not sure why this is different)
MMS proxy:
MCC: 530
MNC:01
Authentication type:
APN type: default,supl

Note that I had APNDroid installed but found that it didn't do anything, it still connected when I didn't want it to, so it's been uninstalled. That may explain the "null" text above.

Hope that helps...

oops, it removed all the angle brackets which said <Not set>

Should have read:
Name: Vodafone NZ
APN: www.vodafone.net.nz
Proxy/Port/Username/Password/Server: <Not set>
MMSC: null (not sure why this is different)
MMS proxy: <Not set>
MCC: 530

+1 and I don't recall entering anything here - just stuck my VF SIM card in and it all worked. The only difference I was already on account.

As an aside grab the update unless your phone was updated at the factory already because of when you got it. It should be build ERE27. Earlier builds had apparently problems with 3G.

OK, so I got a protective case and screen protector a while ago from the Ebay trader that Ichiu7 linked to previously. The screen protector is scratched already and I'm considering other options, including Zagg. What do you recommend? Is there a cheaper option than Zagg that is comparable? If I were to order a Zagg protector, is anyone interested in ordering with me? Price is around NZ$27 each delivered if I order four (screen only, not full-body) - pretty pricey for a sheet of plastic and a small bottle of water...

I never actually used the screen protector they provided - just the case. I already had a Zagg that was given to me by Zagg at CES.

I assume by $27 you mean it's the screen cover only. That is a bit expensive but you can save 20% by using the code PROTECT20.

The Zagg screen protector is pretty good - no scratches after using it since Jan 10 so they are good albeit expensive.

Yeah, just for the screen cover.  thanks, the discount code works - brings it down to around NZ$21-22 including delivery.

Hi guys,
Thanks to all those who replied to my post. Apparently I was just in panic mode cause I got my network data functions back the next day like john from vodafone said. Anyway, I find the dock kinda annoying. Google should've made it a tad bugger. Because when i installed a zagg full protect on my N1, it wouldnt charge anymore. So I basically had to remove part of the film to make it fit but aside the bluetooth functionality of the dock is truely amazing.
Btw, where can I buy a decent cradle? Thanks!

In case anybody's interested there is a beta for a product that can back up all your SMS message on your Android phone, lock it down, remote wipe etc.  It's available here

Wavesecure

Looks like if you sign up it's free for life for Android users.

Since google doesn't backup your SMS messages and call logs, this is a pretty decent adjunct to Google backup should your phone die or be stolen.
