I still haven't got my update :(

I've been manually checking every couple of hours. Also I cleared up my internal memory so that there's about 27mb free.

I bought my phone from Clove, early June shipment (iirc). Anyone else get their phone from them around that time and has the update? Or doesn't? It just feels like I'm the only one that still didn't get it :(

I know I can do a manual update but I would prefer the ota.

This doesn't mention Tasker - quite possibly one of the best apps you can get.

Got mine about a month earlier than you, and updates last week, so maybe they are rolling through the serial numbers, might pay to hang on a bit longer. Are you checking from the software update menu?

I also bout my HTC Desire from Expoert Infotech in Auckland. Same software number as you. Checked manually for OTA update and found nothing.

However, I downloaded the Europe 2.2 from XDA (there is a link in this thread) and installed it on my phone.

I didn't have to root, make a goldcard, or anything but rename the downloaded file to 'update.zip' and copy it to my phone's memory card. Follow the steps on on XDA and you will have 2.2 up and running in 10-15mins. Just remember to set up both your APNs again once 2.2 is installed (APN settings for VFNZ are found in this thread).

All features are working great and I'm yet to find a problem with 2.2 on my phone!

I have just tried http://www.geekword.net/manually-install-froyo-htc-desire/ but failed on the step of verifing update :(

Guys, grab the "APN backup" app before you go FROYO and you can just import them back when you are done upgrading.

I never backed anything up when I did my 2.2 earlier this morning and it was all still there after the update (except the APNs).

Well watching the rugby and putting in reply from froyo desire. Thanks for heads up cosmin Now to restore apns and we are all done. Maybe dreaming but does seem snappier to me.

dpw: I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this. I have 3 Google Apps account registered, with email sync enabled for all of them. In Eclair it was working just fine and I was notified when emails arrived in any of these 3 mailboxes.

Now that I'm running Froyo it has been one point that's really p*ssing me off! It has been updating the account I registered first, but not the other two! I got suspicious when I noticed there were no emails in one of the other two accounts. I went into Google Mail and refreshed that account, and voila! 7 new emails that actually arrived throughout the day! GRRRR! What's happened? Why have these accounts suddenly stopped "pushing" emails?

Yep having intermitant weird network crap going on. Sometimes things notify (usually after reboot) and then later on they 'appear' to be working but dont.
ie hootsuite can load up everything but sending things just hangs, if i reboot it sends all the queued messages all at once. However when its not sending via hootsuite it will browse the web fine .
Occasionally when not browsing the web fine or being able to send sms randomly i can still use it tethered. I find putting it into flight mode and then off, it helps occasionally.
I imagine its like something is crashing or conflicting in the background?
Also email notifications work oddly, none in the notification bar randomly stops, if i open gmail it sometimes says i have 14 emails, but doesnt show them until i manually sync ... very odd stuff.
Its not major stuff, just mildly annoying more than anything.
Anyone else having similar probs?

Disregard that, just noticed that part of the problem was that SwitchPro widget had been going haywire and turned off the auto sync which accounts for half the problems, hootsuite could be app related
