@OVER

Mine purchased from JB Hifi too, Pixel 4XL. I thankfully haven't had any problems with mine yet, aside from the fact that "Ok Google" stops working.  This is apparently a known issue if you change your language from US English to AUS English.  You can "wake it up" for a couple of hours by squeezing it, but after a while it stops working again.

But no battery issues, no.  I don't charge by the cable, I charge each night on my Pixel Stand.

Thanks for the reply @muppet

Sorry to hear about Ok Google not working. Can you change it to UK or US English and avoid the issue?

I think the same battery issue popping up with a new Pixel 4 XL is unlikely so I'm going to head down that route. There's just no good replacement on the market that is as cheap as the Pixel 4 XL is now. $2k for a top tier Samsung, iPhone or the new Sony Xperia 1 ii (which looks amazing btw) is frankly ridiculous.

Lol, I just totally misread your post.

Yes, I agree, get a replacement and be happy :)

I would second that. Get a replacement from MightyApe and keep on trucking with the Pixel.

My brother needs a new phone to replace his hand-me-down 6P and the market is complete rubbish at the moment with only old Nokia's and not enough Moto's available. The rest is all carrier Samsung/Huawei guff.

Late reply but I ended up getting another Pixel 4 XL – there's no better Android phone on the market for me. No way I was going for a Samsung hobbled with Bixby, a Huawei hobbled with no Google Play or a Oneplus hobbled with an average camera. Would have paid more for those too.

I love the Pixel camera and experience and I'm excited to get Android 11 when it releases. Big things for me so it was a no brainer in the end.

I must say JB Hi-Fi NZ were very impressive with their customer service and policies around a product purchased at an Australian store. I went the same route this time just in case this Pixel takes the same route with faults.

Yes, it's a little anti-climactic to buy and receive a new phone that's literally no different to your old phone, but it has been a nice refresher to discover new things while setting this phone up.
