does it stop charging once n5 is fully charged??

Not sure, don't think so. Will check tomorrow

Any of you guys planning to root your devices? Or already rooted? Let us know if you did! Hehe. Ill be getting my n5 at the end of this month, and ill be rooting it straight away and installing franco kernel and purity rom etc. please let me know how you did with it! :)) thanks

I rooted mine pretty much straight away. Have stuck with the stock rom, but use Xposed Framework and GravityBox to make a few essential tweaks.

Just checked. It behaves exactly the same as charging by wire. When fully charged, the phone reads "charged" and the charge symbol - lightening bolt - remains.

Currently have iPhone 5 on Vodafone with 4G.

1 looking at getting one from Mobile Station as seems cheapest local. Says is D821 version. I believe this is version that works on NZ 4G? I'm guessing ones ex US won't work on 4G.

2 are most Nexus 5 now shipping with improved speakers, I believe grill holes are slightly bigger and buttons firmer.

Bang on - D821 is the variant you want for NZ, the US D820 variant does not have the correct 1800MHz LTE band (Band 3) for NZ.

2 degrees showing no stock of white one. Which is one in after.

For those of you after black note that the only part of the white Nexus is the back. The front is black.

That doesn't look like the front view of a white phone - they have a silver earpiece speaker at the top. In fact that's the main reason I prefer the black phone.

Also the white phone isn't as tactile as the black one and has shiny black sides - whereas the black phone has tactile material on the sides as well as the back.

The mobile station deal is misleading, they charge $30 shipping which you have to pay, its considered the international shipping fee to import it. Its kinda bull if you ask me. I got mine 2 weeks ago from warehouse stationary for $599, white one.

Yes. all true but I was just pointing out for those interested in buying one that the white version is not a completely white phone. That was the first screen shot I came across.

The phone is unlocked and will work on all 3 of the NZ networks. I use mine on Telecom XT. It's smokin on 4G.

Just thought I'd update on this one - I got a couple of cheap QI chargers from dx.com (This one and this one) and they both work well - with one in the office and one next to the bed I recharge the phone a lot more frequently than I would with a cable. I haven't had any trouble with either of them in getting the nexus 5 charged, but as the second/rectangular one is the same shape although slightly bigger than the nexus 5, it makes lining up the phone easier than the square one.

Did a quick current check on one of them, and without a phone it uses 0-40 mA, which rises to around 500-800mA when a low-charged phone is attached. Once the phone is charged, that drops to around 200mA. Of course the current going into the wireless charger is a lot less than what gets to the phone, but the longer charge time is more than made up by the ease of use - I'm about to get another one and mount it into my car.
