Anyone use juicedefender on froyo? I'm having a problem of the APN not disabling through juicedefender so it comes on right away and starts downloading from the APN before the wifi kicks in, I reinstalled and it still doesnt work even with the wait 5 seconds for wifi option on.

sonmica: I did a manual check today (for the hundredth time) and finally got the update :)

Just a heads up to those still waiting on 2.2 and got their phone around the same time as me (~early June)

That's great news! Can you please share the radio version? Thanks!

Just to go back to middle of thread about updating to froyo, I brought my desire from expert infotech, had it for 2weeks then updated ota to froyo only to have my ph stuck in a boot cycle, E.I werent any help said that phones were imported directly from factory via germany. could send it back to them, but reading some reviews and my own experience thought i would never c it again!!

Cut a long story short, Phone must have been debranded some were as only way i could fix was to create a gold card, install ruu wwe 1.21 rom. Waited for update to froyo for that version same thing happened when i tried.

The fix: If u have this problem make sure u have gold card in before u update!! everything working perfectly nowTongue out

Also HTC sync 3.0 Works on desire and it is way better than the old one go get it

According to HTC support, debranded Desires have x.xx.405.x ROM's. Mine, from MobiCity, was both branded and region-locked so using the gold card is the only way to upgrade it.

Interesting - I got mine from expert infotech as well - but I had no need to use a gold card - even when I rooted the device! ... (apparently a gold card is necessary for branded desires when rooting also).

Not for my Telstra branded rom A8183. I booted up ubuntu, ran unrevoked 3, flashed LeeDroid 1.8 followed by the radio and it worked first time.

Ditto for me with A8183 - except I ran unrevoked3 under windows. All worked as expected - after I remembered to run unrevoked3 as admin...

Cheers - N

Just yesterday loaded the r8 Froyo version from MoDaCo online kitchen, noticed the battery drops very sharply from 100% down to 90% then trickles down from there. This happened in 2.1(unrooted)  I noticed but I've been running MoDaCo r5 for the last week and this wasn't an issue with that build.

Anyone else have this?

have you run the battery flat, then fully charged?
I have heard of the onboard meters needing that to recalibrate. Maybe with the way froyo does things it's thrown out the calibration?

I'm running MCR r8 as well. Battery down to 96% since being unplugged about an hour ago. Doesn't seem too bad to me so far.

Will report if I notice anything strange like that.

From what I've seen with the r8 ROM is my battery life being noticeably better, particularly on the lower end.

Anyone know if the OTA Froyo update is able to be rooted yet?

Doing the same for me. Only noticed this since the update to 2.2 (official update)

Haven't read/heard anything as exciting as that at the other Android forums. But if you can't wait, you could always try this. Downgrading your HBOOT from 0.92 back to the "rootable" 0.80 again :)

first off i'll say hi and introduce myself.

i have been reading thru the maze of replies and topics on this forum for information on the upgrade to 2.2...

so as i understand there is a rolling upgrade to 2.2 available via your phones "update software" function but not everyone is eligible as yet?...

i read thru a post about rooting the phone and manually upgrading but im a little uneasy about doing this as ive only had the phone 2 days..

is it quite easy to do? what are peoples opinions on doing the upgrade? well worth it?

Thanks

Mark
