If you want to receive these codes regularly, all you have to do is sign up to the site and go to the Celebration page.
You can enter up to 10 birthdays for different people.
Within a few weeks of the birthday you'll receive an email with in-store discounts and a free shipping code.
If, for example, you enter someone whose birthday is coming up in the next week or so you will receive an email within a few hours.
The in-store discounts can sometimes be stacked on top of existing promotions.
So it's worth signing up to get those as well as the free shipping.
(disclosure- I work for The Warehouse)

Sounds like a lot of hassle really. If they are prepared to offer the codes then I shouldnt have to mess about putting fake people into a site to get them.

Bit of give and take really. You only have to set things up once, it's pretty easy and won't take you more than a couple of minutes.

Big items over 25kg need to go freight, not courier so cost a lot to send.

I ordered toolboxes on red alert yesterday that I would have thought would be over 25kg, but it was the normal cheap courier price so who knows who will bring them. Possibly a rather angry courier driver like when I bought 20 of the storage cubes. Also for only one cheap courier cost.

I certainly don't think they should charge for picking up items from their stores. They don't at other click and collect stores owned by the same parent.

The pick up at store is actually shipped there from other ones, but I dont see why they cant send them along with their other shipments between stores. Some of the smaller warehouses actually have stuff all range in them so they dont have the things in store for you to just click and collect, they have to get them.

I've seen a few click and collect pallets closer to Christmas and major events. I think they put them on their own pallets so the stock doesn't end up being put on the shelf and sold. I think they come in with our normal freight company.

The major difference is that it's clearly labelled from the DC that it's for a customer order. That and you know you're getting one rather than a rain check which is more of a best effort if we still carry the items in question.

I don't think they send them from another store now with click and collect and endless aisles. Transfers are mainly stock the smaller stores can't get rid of to the bigger ones now. Click and collect is usually from the DC's.
