To save space, Our Christmas tree hangs on the wall.

I also assume it helps keep it cat safe .. but I dont have a cat to test it with.

I've extended this giveaway to Wednesday the 16th of December (in-line with Mauricio's giveaway) and to allow for more time for others to get their Christmas trees up and posted :)

Excellent submissions thus far! Keep them coming!

I never have a Xmas tree (no-one else to see it) but if I won the lights I would love to be able to send them to my grandchildren to decorate their tree with, they get such a kick out of Xmas and thats what Xmas is about, spreading a bit of happiness.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

We made our own this year from locally sourced driftwood and a new RYOBI drill

The 'ornament' pictured above the tree is just to help buffer those Wellington southerlies - not part of the festivities, but the lights would be a treat for the whole city on these windows.

My youngest daughter traditionally dresses herself up in tinsel each year before putting it on the tree. This year was no different but we decided to put some lights on her. I think with a battery pack and some Twinkly lights she would never take them off.

Cat is not impressed

Quite a few decorations are missing as our daughter likes to play with them. A lot of them are hand made by my Mum, so a lot of them are from my childhood. Brings back good memories.

Our tree is a mixture of the past 10 years homemade decorations, and the 2 or 3 new decorations I buy at 50% off each year.

Our tree decorating consists of me spending a couple of hours straightening out the branches and adding the lights, while the toerags nag at my feet, and then 5 minutes of them adding decorations before getting bored.

Anyway, my favourite decoration is the little metal caravan, it reminds me of the caravan in our driveway that doesn't get used often enough.

And a further update. We had some Christmas lights but we went out for an hour and came back to find out puppy had got out and the only thing he had eaten in the rest of the house was the lights, and some chocolate. So had to take him to the vet to empty his stomach. There was a LED light inside.

@bartender  oh no! Thank goodness you only need new lights and not a new puppy.

Here is my oldest putting the finishing touches to the tree.

We have old school twinking lights turned on with the a lenovo smart switch. The command: Activate Christmas.

That also turns the lounge lights red and green.

It would be amazing to next level the lighting.

I Have something similar, if I yell out "Alex its Christmas time" it turns on my TPLink Kasa for the basic tree lights, a set of Twinkkly Lights (that are AWESOME!), turns off my couch and kitchen lights, dims my dinning light to 10%, turns on my Philips Hue lamps in and around the Lounge /Dinning to red and green, then starts playing Snoopys Christmas.

A note to others contemplating this, this only works if your kid is called Alex, otherwise you'll need to substitute your child's actual name.
