Sony Ericsson released a free application that allows P800 and P900 users to control their Bluetooth car from these mobile phones. Up until now this mobile accessory (read our review) was only compatible with non-Symbian mobile phones. Sony Ericsson previously released the P900 SDK which included a demo application to control the car, but that only worked with the P900 model. Now with this new application owners of both Symbian UIQ mobile phones models can control their Bluetooth CAR-100 using a graphical user interface.
The main screen show configuration details, including feedback and different "driving" styles, including Arcade,Simulator and Fun.
The ‘Arcade’ mode only uses second gear and the brake for rearward motion.
The ‘Simulator’ mode tries to emulate real car behavior with gears and brakes. The gears are changed by pressing over and under the gearshift on the screen. To go from forward motion to rearward motion the driver first have to press the brakes and then to select R by pressing the screen repediately until the R sign is shown.
The ‘Fun’ mode is quite similar to the Arcade mode, featuring different steering.
