T-Mobile MDA III announced with wi-fi and sliding keyboard
The operator has introduced a new Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, but press information does not contain any official specification or which markets will see the new model first.

The T-Mobile MDA III seems to be a GSM version of the CU928, a CDMA 1xRTT Pocket PC Phone Edition launched in the Chinese market in April 2004.

The main features on this new model is the sliding QWERTY keyboard, built-in wi-fi and a 25% increase in battery life when compared with previous models. T-Mobile also says that a Blackberry push e-mail service will be available from the Q4 2004. The PPCW.Net web site lists some leaked configuration, which seems similar to the one found on the CU928:

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC Phone Edition
  • CPU: - Intel XScale, 400 MHz
  • Memory: 64 MB Flash ROM, 128 MB SDRAM
  • Screen: 3.5", 240 x 320 pixels Transflective TFT-LCD
  • Connectivity: GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, 802.11b, IrDA and USB
  • Camera: Color CMOS VGA camera
  • Integrated QWERTY keyboard
  • Size: 125 x 71.6 x 18.7 mm = 4.92 x 2.82 x 0.73 in
  • Expansion: MMC/SDIO
