Good reason to attend the Wellington Windows Mobile User Group
We (as in the organisers) were promised a Navman Bluetooth GPS for our first Wellington Windows Mobile User Group meeting of the year... If you attended that meeting you know we didn't have one to give away... Sad, I know.

What happened then is that we were promised one device for the meeting, but when I tried to have it sent to us I could not contact the person. When I tried to arrange the device for our next meeting (31 March 2005) I found out this person moved to another company.

Feeling bad because we have promissed that Bluetooth GPS to our user group, I talked to our CGO (Chief Group Organiser) Darryl Burling and agreed to provide one from my own funds.

But things have changed since then! I have talked directly to Navman (instead of a distributor), and we were on track again, with their donation of one Bluetooth GPS to giveaway. The only problem is that Navman didn't have one in stock to send.

No problem: the good folks at Navman (thanks Richard!) decided to upgrade the offer and we are now going to have a Navman PiN Pocket PC with built-in GPS (read our review) to giveaway during the meeting.

So, after a couple of problems (or three) we will have an even better GPS prize.

Thanks again to Navman. By the way, if you don't know, this is originally a New Zealand company, based in Auckland - now technically an American company since Brunswick bought them back in 2004.

PS. Make sure you don't miss the next meeting. And no, the winner will not receive the device in the picture - that was a review unit. The lucky person will receive a brand new one.
