Wellington Tablet PC User Group ahead
The Wellington Tablet PC User Group had its first meeting last night (12 July) and we had a great attendance.

The meeting was organised by Craig Pringle and hosted at the offices of Microsoft New Zealand.

Our sponsors were Mindet (which gave us a copy of MindManager Pro to giveaway) and i-toyz, the local distributors of Fujitsu, iTronix and Motion Computing.

Craing introduced the user group, its drivers and followed this with a review of mobile computing and Tablet PC use. After that we had a demo of MindManager Pro and a discussion on its uses.

i-toyz brought the first Motion LE1600 (pictured) to arrive in the country for this meeting, plus IBM/Lenovo was showing the ThinkPad X41 Tablet. Toshiba was there and is going to sponsor and host our next meeting.

The format for this meeting was a bit different, with only one speaker. The group will actually have multiple speakers in the future and we are working to alternate the meetings between the Windows Mobile Group and Tablet PC User Group.

A website is being created for this group, but you can keep an eye in announcements here on Geekzone or on Craig's blog.
