The local Chrysler agent invited about 60 Chrysler PT Cruiser owners around the Wellington region for a Sunday meeting. We decided to take the Geekzone Mobile to the party. The invitation said something about "drive in convoy to the waterfront and brunch".
We thought it was a little strange, after all the waterfront here in Wellington is just a couple of blocks from the Chrysler shop. But any fun is fun and we got up early on a nice Sunday to meet at 10am with the rest of the group.
13 of us joined the Chrysler folks and for our surprise the drive was actually a 50 Km route to Raumati Beach, to a cafe called The Waterfront... It was a nice drive, and on the way we passed a few vintage cars and got some looks.
This is actually my second PT Cruiser, but the first with the GEEKZ1 plate. Our first one was bought in 2001 soon after the car was introduced in the local market. I was actually stopped four time by cops who just wanted to look at the car!
Anyway, after talking to a lot people, looking at some modifications (and yes some even knew about Geekzone!) we had brunch, sponsored by Chrysler. We were also informed that soon they will send out a card with discounts in services and parts.
I guess it was a good thing for them in terms of marketing too - a lot of people looking through new cars (someone here is still trying to convince me the Chrysler Crossfire is not a "family" car)...
