Kiwi student’s design to appear on Google New Zealand homepage

Amelia Abbot from Nelson’s Hampden Street School was announced as the winner of the inaugural New Zealand Doodle 4 Google competition in November 2009. The competition, held in association with The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, asked students to create a Google ‘doodle’, based on the Google logo, to share their vision of New Zealand.

Current owners of Nokia smartphones that are compatible with the new Ovi Maps can download it free of charge now. From March 2010, new Nokia GPS-enabled smartphones will include the new version of Ovi Maps, preloaded with local country map data, high-end walk and drive navigation and access to Lonely Planet and Michelin travel guides at no extra cost.
