For 34db attenuation, I think your sync rate is very good.

I would have expected 5000-9000kbps sync with those stats.

Regs: i had a google and found a couple of links that seemed to suggest i should be up towards 13Mbps on ADSL2+:

http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/dslam_speeds
http://fremnet.net/article/216/adsl-theoretical-speed-calculator
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.DMT#DMT_history_and_line_rates

That's most likely with a target noise margin of 6db, but Chorus use 12. How far are you from exchange / cabinet?

I would say its on the money for 12dB noise margin.

OK, thanks guys.

My next question.... attainable rate versus actual rate. 8377 vs 9760. am i on a adsl1 speed profile of some sort?

with some ADSL modem you could use DMT tool to lower SNR Margin to get more out of your Downstream sync rate.

The attainable against acutal is where one is the theoretical based on attenuation and noise margin, the other is reality, I would describe your close enough to not worry.
