Yeah I had that issue once and this fixed it.
Also the unit was really hot, so I moved stuff around to make sure the unit was well ventilated. Not happened since.

Sky advise against that now (for HDi), you should use the red reset button in the flap where the smart card goes. (think hold it in for 5 secnds or so)
I think it kills any disk writing and 'gracefully' reboots (and it's probably easier to get to than your sky power cord)

Prosiac: well respect all those ideas about the issue. However, the decoder is neither hot nor there is any hint of crude or liquid into the remote... and the same remote is working fine in other decoders.... so i think the problem might be different......

Prosiac: I am having strange problem with the decoder..... when i keep on changing the channels, the decoder keeps on restarting.... can anyone give me the reason for this problem and the solution to it !!!!
if you press buttons on remote too much (on myskyhdi) it overloads decoder & it will reset..
Make sure you press buttons slowly
