Hi

Before I take a deep breath and call Sky, has anyone here experienced (and hopefully fixed) their new sky box having very delayed responses to remote buttons, and being stuck on the channel list (maybe for a minute) after powering on?

I've done restarts, which seem to help for a very short while (minutes), but isn't a fix. Recordings taking up about 60% of HDD. This problem only seems to have just started doing this. There are no pending updates. The box is hardwired and WiFi is disabled.

Any help appreciated...

I was just about to post, has anyone got the New Sky Box

A bit concerned that a new recording device like MySky has these issues, as the hard drive and remote aren't part of the internet world that the puck is. (meaning hard drive and remote aren't online parts as such, they are hardware that live in the living room)

I really can't see any benefit to the new box, particularly since it costs more per month too

I did a reinstall of the sky app on the box and fixed my problems. At least for now.

I stuck with the old box and from what everyone has told me I am Glad I did.

Still have the old box too. Apart from more recording and less physical space, I don't think the new box offers anything that I would call 'better'. Not having a stop button on the new box grates too.

Same! Sky emailed me yesterday a free offer to upgrade. I emailed back and said I'd rather keep my 500Gb black box.

We got the new little white box, to replace the old black big box.

IT IS TRASH.

My chromecast is better than it. It can load all the apps and doesn't constantly crash and lag. It was taking 2 minutes to change channels, and going between the menus is slow. I am always having to unplug the box and completely reset it because it shows a fuzzy white screen as well. How was this junk pushed out? My folks have no clue what to do when this happens. I'm glad I told them not to return the old one.

Sky sent us a postage paid bag to send the old decoder back to them, but I know what will be going back to them.

We've had the new box for over a year now and have got to the point where we hardly use it - as above, it's laggy, flakey, unreliable, and generally frustrating to use...

I've just cancelled our contract (finishes this Sat) and we will now rely on the Sky Sports Now app.

I would rate the white box as TRASH also, in my words - a frustrating piece of junk. And I'm being kind.

It seems that these TV UI's are developed by the same people that do the legacy car makers navigation screens and ATM's - they are all laggy unresponsive junk.
