Chromecast is definitely coming soon, aiming to have it sorted before the RWC :)

ChristieL: Bitrates should not be compromised tonight. The more people streaming the higher priority we get on the server, so in theory the better the experience should be.

Bitrate will be 4500 for tablet and desktops, 3000 for mobile - check out the FAQs here http://fanpass.co.nz/faq

Re - other devices being added. We are constantly look at additional ones and will look to road map these. I will pass this on to our product team.

On "the server"? Do you mean on the OCS or on the various Akamai servers?

Are you able to comment why SS4 is notably worse than the other channels? (It's not just my imagination)

Still completely watchable - just frustrating that it's not as good as SS1...

I look forward to the acid test tonight. I'll be watching our Akamai servers to see if this creates any sort of blip in traffic :-)

Cheers )- N

Been watching some games this arvo.
Pretty resonable compared to SkyGo.

Im having to use Laptop straight to TV via HDMI as for some reason samsung screen mirror keeps dropping out, and no chrome cast support yet.

My biggest issue, and cant seem to figure it out is once on full screen the progrees bar with Live and Slow options on it wont go away.

Any one else notice this or know a simple magic trick I havnt stumbled on to get rid of this?
I really dont want it there for the big game tonight......

Good point, I get that too (WIn 8.1 (and 10) and Chrome)

Cheers - N

Heh - to get rid of the progress bar - take your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen and right click once... Of course - so obvious!

Cheers - N

ps. It's started getting choppy here now :-(

Akamai servers.

We are not sure what is currently happening with SS4. Will look in to this.

Totally, I suspect a lot of people are testing this tonight.  It's make or break for this service.  Looks great when lightly loaded so far...

Are there any future plans to offer 1080 over this medium?

And will Sky be offering a PS3 app?

If it's not ideal tonight, I'd suggest improvements will arise, after all it's a 1.0 and likely to be a rugged test tonight, both ways.

I'm actually surprised at this, you'd expect Sky to ride the RWC wave, then release this model. That deserves a clap IMHO, they appear to be embracing the streaming surge.

But it's not a 1.0... It's LITERALLY a 2.0. Read the first post Press Release :-)

Picture quality on SS1 is excellent, but as the afternoon goes on, it's getting more and more interrupted with picture freezes (notably sound is usually NOT dropping out at the same time)

Cheers - N

I can't seem to get rid of the progress bar as well. Tried the suggestions posted earlier but no luck. A right click just brings up the flash player settings menu. Am I doing it wrong?

Occurs in full screen mode, tried Chrome and Firefox, Win7 on a laptop connected to TV via HDMI.
