From that article, expert advice from the Sky spokesperson in relation to the UI complaints:

She offered this advice to customers: "If you connect your HDMI cable from your set-top box to your TV, that makes a world of difference, and you can also play with your tuning on the television, with contrast and colour and stuff like that. "It's hard, we can't set a formula because every TV is different, but they are two things that people can do now."

Yeah, I saw "stuff like that" and really started laughing my butt off (nearly like the post icon I selected tongue-out).  My comment on this is actually, it look two years of promises for this update, so the text fix is another 2 years away I assume?

"The software upgrade to the Sky interface had now been rolled out to almost all of the company's 800,000 domestic household customers, she said, and it changed the way users navigated the system."

It hasn't landed at my house yet.

I selected Manufacturer:Kaon and Model:NS 1120. This has all working buttons i use except volume up, down, and mute. I entered these in manually by teaching the command to the remote. Only had to do these 3. This works good for me. I have a Harmony 350 and use the MyHarmony application.

Doesn't it need a special wifi adapter? The MySky boxes don't have built in Wifi so you need to use an ethernet cable..

Yep new boxes (not the mysky HDi or mysky+) have an inbuilt wifi and Ethernet.

mysky HDi and mysky+ need a wifi adapter (skylink) or a power line adapter OR an Ethernet cable to access ondemand.
The phone lines are by the looks of it being slowly replaced with Internet

I haven't received the update yet.  Its a mysky+ box. Just wondering if it is because my box isn't connected to the telephone line or Lan???  I don't receive emails from sky anymore as i unsubscribed from their spam email.

Still not too sure if I want the upgrade!!!

LAN doesn't work on a non upgraded box, and the upgrade comes via Satellite so it doesn't matter if its not connected to a phone line either.

wont have a choice about the upgrade, may as well just force it to upgrade manually
