The Sharp LNBs are recognised as among the best in the world - That's why Sky chose them after we had evaluated about ten different brands - and some of the original Sharp (single throat) LNBs we installed about 16 years ago are still working!!!
The problem is with the Sharp dual throat LNBs, which Sharp manufactured especially for Sky and NZs situation after Sky panicked when B1 suddenly moved and everyone lost their Sky for about three days. So Sky's plan was to use C1 as a backup by switching on the 22Khz switch inside the LNB, if that happened again.
Yep, seems the original few container loads never lasted long, LO drifting Hi seems most common issue.
