NonprayingMantis: if your house already has a dish, you could ask a neighbour or family member who has sky to sign up for an extra multi room box for $25 per month and you pay them that, take the box and plug it into your house.

Is this possible even if you're living on different suburbs?

It is technically possible (anywhere in the country as the satellite covers the whole country), but as i said earlier against T's and C's

I know you used to be able to have your bach as a multiroom, not sure if this is still the case however.

Hmmmm

Have you tried any of the re-sellers?

I got mine through Harvey Norman and got free sport for 6 months, 6 free movies and 6 months of no iSky fees.

I thought it was a good deal.

At the end of the day, it's pay TV - if the prices don't meet your expectations, don't pay for it.

Handsomedan: 6 months of no iSky fees.

Isn't this free now anyway?

Agreed with much of the above by the way.  I want access to the sport content, not the 'base' content I'm forced to purchase before getting to the good stuff.  Presumably some of the costs here cover the organisation and no doubt contribute to the sports rights costs anyway though.

Charging more for HD content in this day in age hurts, but there's not competition and clearly enough customers will purchase this product so good on them.

According to ZM this morning, some of the prisons in NZ offer Sky to the inmates.

That sounds like a good deal to me

Sounds better than many of our schools here in NZ.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Krishant007: well, after the 6 months is up, the price jumps from 47 bucks to almost 75.. so i dont really see it as very attractive.. and all i do is just watch sports.. and even then only on weekends..

Well that's the cost of Sky so if you cant afford it or don't want to pay that much, you cant have it.

yep, its probably against the Ts and Cs, but then so is accessing Netflix from NZ, which loads of people do quite happily and is regularly discussed on this forum.

Unless you plug the sky box into your phoneline (which you dont have to) I believe there is no way for Sky to know where your multiroom box is, and yes, I know several people who have a multiroom box at their bach.

I signed up for this offer a couple of weeks ago. I chose Sky Movies and MySky+ (rather than Sky Movies and another premium channel), all free for 12 months (so I'm just paying the Basic rate which is $47 or something per month).

When my 12 months are up I'll just move my services to Vodafone since I'm with them for mobile & bb (as that way the MySky+ will be a lot cheaper).

If you just want Sports, try asking a nice family member or friend that has sport and multiroom, to see if they will sign up to iSky (if they haven't already) and let you use their account. Then use their account from your own computer and voila! :)
