I am on telecom and no problems logging in, in fact every other live sports channel worked perfectly. Only had an issue with the all blacks feed.

Why would you want to watch it in iSKY? The picture quality is even worse than Sommet sports.

And to think all those people who say normal SKY is dead and watching everything over the internet will be the norm very soon.

Maybe SKY also knows that most watching over iSKY are not subscribers but using someone else's username and password so are not worried

Well, in my case I pay for Sky for my mum, so it's installed at her place in the North Island. I recently cancelled my own Sky however as I couldn't justify paying that much money and watching nearly nothing.

(The Sky at my mums place is in my name, I'm the account holder... So I feel utterly fine about using iSky)

SkyTV's response to and resolution to the call i logged: iSky is a free service to all Satellite subscribed viewers therefor they can afford to have this service offline (whenever they choose to)

Seriously won't someone release a legitimate, NZ sanctioned online streaming service for live sporting events. There really is a market here, and hopefully overtime we get to introduce some competition into this area.

Agreed. It always pisses me off that anywhere else in the world you can stream the ANBL basketball but not in NZ as Sky has the right to it .. You are verboten from even trying to sign up for an account on NBL.tv. If you try you get
"Due to contractual constraints we are unable to provide a live stream into New Zealand. However matches will be available on Sky Sports NZ."

One can only hope the EPL is a catalyst for more change, I welcome sky losing more sporting events in favour of online streaming alternatives

Of course the law of unintended consequences may well happen and some sports and sports fans lose out big time. If it does go to a pay per sports basis then I can see some sports not getting the viewers they once did. This will apply to coverage of the local version of the sport especially.

If you look overseas, most streaming options are only if you are not in the catchment area of the team involved or are after the fact.

It may well change overtime but I can't see a total move from one platform to the other. In the US with much better internet then we have the most popular way to get coverage is still by terrestrial means and especially with the big sports such as NFL. What they have also found is that people have moved to watching just the team they support more than ever before, if online became the only means to watch your team in the city/country they are in there would be huge issues.

The problem you have is that there is a NZ team in the competition. So like Australia you can't sign up to NBLTV. NBLTV is designed for countrys where there is no terrestrial broadcaster or if there is they don't do the full package.

You also have the issue that SKY films the game so they have the rights to it. If they told SKY that it would be on NBLTV then SKY would be well within there rights to pay a lesser fee for the rights and the NBL would most likely prefer gauranteed income rather than on/off NBLTV money.

Channel Ten plays one game a week live, Channel One shows a delayed game another day (not sure which).
I think the live Channel Ten game is shown on NBL TV delayed by couple of hours, all other games shown live.

That was last year, the Channel Ten broadcast deal is for another 2 years with supposedly more live games shown free-to-air each year. Not sure how that will impact NBL TV

Do you think that if FOXTEL brought the rights to all games they would want NBLTV to be modified or stopped from being available in Australia and if NBLTV siad no then FOXTEL wouldn't bother.
