I cancelled for 4 years because of the poor image quality but realised any service upgrade may actually not occur until Sky shift/duplicate their services to fibre.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I got the HD ticket refunded and canceled today.

I asked specifically if the HD ticket would have any value for me with a basic package and customer service said it would.

Anyone with a Basic package AND HD ticket should ask for their money back from Sky. And they should really make it more obvious what you get when you buy the HD ticket.

So are you on Freeview now or are you just without regular TV broadcasts?

In Sky's defence, their website spells it out:
HD Access Ticket
SKY HD content is available on selected programmes on SKY Sport 1, SKY Sport 2, SKY Sport 3, ESPN, SoHo, SKY Movies and SKY Movies Greats (may be subject to change during major sporting events).

But their CSRs should really know this and give accurate info when asked. Glad they refunded for you as they should.

I experienced the same thing from Sky about 4 years ago and honestly I cannot believe that they are still doing this (and still getting away with it)

BTW: Have not been a sky subscriber since the beginning of 2012. Don't miss is very much (apart from the Sports)

Its amazing they dont even have Prime in HD.

Compare Sky NZ's offering compared to their Aussie counterparts....

I relented for the Olympics and have kept it. I can't complain about SoHo and the Sport channels but won't watch the SD channels because of poor image quality. I have Freeview terrestrial and sat (unwatchable really also but looked good in 2007 before they added the duplicate One and 3 streams).
