What would they say if I called them for the same deal. I'm not a customer.

I did just that.

They said they could give me the deal offered at http://www.skytv.co.nz/Default.aspx?tabid=1715

However that does not include mySky.  MySky is an extra $15.  The CSR said free mySky must be an offer from a telemarketer and you need to be called (apparently randomly).

So the next question is how do you make sure you get a call?

I ain't paying money for SD feed and no recording. Why do they even offer that option. Foxtel doesn't do that.

You can get mySky and the HD ticket, you just have to pay.  $15 for mySky and $10 for HD.  You would have to pay the $10 for HD anyway if a telemarketer called you.

So the added cost from what the OP was offered is $15 for MySky.  If I can get a telemarketer to ring me then that is probably free too, however not having a home phone (only mobile) I won't be holding my breath that they will call.

This was the case when I tried to sign up - which is the reason I backed out. In this day and age HD shouldn't be considered a 'premium' service worthy of extra fees. It should just be standard.

The F1 feed we get is appalling.  We should get the full UK Sky feed and commentary which is 100 times better, with driver interviews before and after qualifying and the race.  F1 viewers have no idea what they are missing out on.  I often watch UK SkyF1 HD full coverage the next day at a friends house who downloads it via the internet.  We both have NZ Sky but don't watch F1 on it.

Probably cost more for those things so they just pay peanuts for the bbc feed. The only reason I watch f1 is Martin. He is like your favourite physics teacher who explains things really well.

I don't know why he is employed second to crofty, who knows nothing compared to Martin. And very annoying tone too

Yuck. Really Sky is just a a vulgar blur with mpeg2 macroblocks (have a look for them) visible on all channels without HD ticket. I couldn't watch it and certainly wouldn't pay for it.

Yeah definately a +1 to that. It's like something I would expect from a ****ty web stream.
