The pricing is hilarious. It's like this only exists to try and make their regular paytv service look good. $70 a month for one set of games of one sport, or get all of them with a Mysky HDi for only $29 more per month! What value!

The only good development i can see here is the HD resolutions and bitrates, and if neon has similar quality levels, perhaps sky go will also look better than a youtube video 5+ years ago.

Hey Sky,

How about something like this for V8 Supercars? (including Bathurst!)  but yeah not at those prices!

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

So, based on my PLP experience, a bit average?

Yes. they definitely could've chosen a better way to power the site...

I paid for PLP, I watch every Liverpool match, however I've stopped using it. I use lfclivestream. Links to HD (actual fecking HD) quality streams that blow PLP out of the water.

Wondering what plug ins Kodi could give me in terms of there being an NRL, cricket and Rugby stream. If I got those I wouldn't bother with Sky

Agreed, a lot of "illegal" streams blow the offical streams out of the water in terms of quality and stability.

as for Kodi plugins, there are plugins for other "Neulion" based services so there is a chance that there could be one for this.

It would be good if Sky came out and said something about Fan Pass; for example why is it priced so high compared with other similar services.

if sky just simply said, right you can have online sports package akin to what's shown on Sky Sport, plus some other stuff exclusive to online for $500-$800 total package, I'd be all over that.

I can't see those prices staying that high for long, surely sky will drop them.

I did a survey on this a few months ago, and among the questions was how much I would expect to pay for for content, which packages, and and on what platforms. It also asked what cut-off cost would you no longer think the package was affordable. I think mine was around $25 per month for the rugby as the cutoff point.

Just received an email from Sky offering a week's Fan Pass for $9. I might give it a go to test the quality, but still no way I pay $300 for the year.

The coupon code is WEEKEND9.

Just wondering what other peoples experiences were with this.

I was sent a promo for $9 for the first week of NRL, so decided to give it a go. The site was nice and simple to navigate and the interface was simple enough to use, but the game last night was almost unwatchable the quality was so bad. Tested with an iPhone connected to the appletv (wireless) and via the HTPC in the lounge (ethernet) with the same results.

I'm on 30Mb fibre and have been happily watching the NFL via gamepass in HD this past season without any issues whatsoever, so don't think it should be my connection at fault.

Had a quick look last night and haven't seen any reports or reviews of the viewing experience. Mainly just seems to be disbelief at the price :)

Well... Sky dropped the pricing for the F1 from $300 for the season to $200 for the season, and down to $13 for a week..

So I thought - " I have to support that sort of behaviour" and since the first couple of races are in sociable timezones that suit me to watch live I bought a month ($27)...

Watching the F1 Qualifying buildup show now on a 40Mbps VDSL Spark connection. (16GB i7 with SSD and GTX760)

WASTE OF MONEY. Continuous buffering. 20 seconds of playback then a skip or a pause.

The dodgy streams are lower resolution (Fanpass does try to do up to 720p) but more watchable.

I presume there's no chance of a refund and in hindsight I should have just gone for one week to test it out but oh well.

Other services that I use (mostly Lightbox) work great.

3/10 Sky. Well done for dropping the price. If the service worked in solid 720P I would probably pay $200 for the year, but offering a service that's clearly not up to is and taking good money for it. Ugh.

Cheers - N
