mudguard: I must admit I get confused by this too. We have Mysky HDi (which seems to be free on the invoice) and yet the only channel that I ever notice looking good is Channel 3? I was watching MOTOGP the other night and a little icon that popped up offering an HD ticket?
Is the Sky Sports ticket someone pointed out above? How much is that per month and what exactly does mysky HDi get you?
Edit. Noticed the reply from Jase above. Another $10. I had a look at the website. It is a bit weird how the build the pack44ages. They have little icons for HD sport in the basic package. Yet further down they mention the ticket needs to be enabled.

the HD in mysky HDi stands for hard drive not high definition

not sure if they did it on purpose or not but its very confusing for most people

Have been on hold for 40 mins so far, with Vodafone, trying to get the HD ticket added. Are they the most useless ISP in NZ?

Yes! only with them because of the rates and discount on my on account plan.

Seems that I need the HD Ticket - hopefully that'll solve things. Cheeky of Sky to sell it like that...grrr.

Another quick question (off topic!) : I use a digital cable (I think it's called a S/PDIF) to get sound from the STB to the amp, and sound from the xBox to the amp. One of the digital cables is damaged (the cat chewed on it and you can see red glowing light where the cat chewed it!!) - will this damage impair audio signal transmission? It doesn't sound like it does.

The HDMI cable from MySky will pass video and audio to your amp.

Unless this has changed sky don't transmit in transmit in Full HD quality. Not sure if the up scaling to suit you tv happens in the decoder or in your tv.

The box will be s along that to an actual resolution HDMI can do and then the tv scaling again to the panel size after deinterlacing the content.

Not looked at what res sky was at recently but last time someone mentioned this it was not the case on the sports channel I looked at.

Sport 1 & 2 are still 1440x1080. Sport 3 to 8 (when available) are 1920x1080.
