So the tech came and as expected it immediately connected to the internet without any issues. The Sky tech said that many of teh older boxes had trouble connecting to the internet with some of them refusing at all to connect ever. you would think Sky would just swap out those older boxes to the new model. But of course why would they do something that costs them money. Better to wait till the person makes a fuss.
The crazy thing is if I knew there was the option to swap out the box for $50 I probably would have done it a year ago to save all this hassle. But Sky don't even mention it as being an option.
My final post to sky was this:
Thanks for sending the tech. the box was swapped and the internet immediately connected and Ondemand works now as it should. I'm confused though that you say that normally the swap would cost $50? We rent the equipment from you and I'm not sure why we would pay to have something exchanged that is faulty or not fit for purpose as it's covered by the CGA? If you introduce a feature such as Ondemand then it's down to Sky to ensure that feature works. We pay A LOT per month to stay with Sky and have been customers for well over 10 years.
