Gee, I had no idea about F1TV, thanks team! I used to be a big fan, but fell out of the habit the last 10 years or so (doesn't help that my team has been rubbish in that period). Drive to Survive has sucked me in again and that price for a year is *waaay* easier to self justify.

What are time differences like? Once upon a time a 2am race was manageable. Not any more. But with all the despots and oil dollar races on the calendar now might be more amenable? Or wishful thinking? Just wondering whether to get the live or replay-only package (though both are cheap).

The whole race calendar is about 2/3 terrible 1-5am Mondays, 1/3 not bad 6-9am Mondays, and a now returned Australian GP at a lovely 5-7pm on Sunday this year.

Legend, ta! Probably worth it for the live package if there's at least 5 or 6 races to watch live, so that's awesome, thanks.

Australian GP was how I got in to F1. The one race a year I was able to watch as a wee fella. Senna in a McLaren Honda at Adelaide! Ah, the memories.

Hi,

Spark had the rights for 3 years from 2019 - 2021. I have heard a wee rumour that Sky has secured the rights back again?

Anyone hear or seen anything about that?

If that were true that would be the 1,2 punch needed for me to ditch Spark Sport.

Although as I likely have to switch for EPL, I'd rather only need one and not both services.

Won't be this year. The 2022 races are all listed in the Spark guide & the first live shows start this week (Testing).

Does F1 TV give you the SKY F1 commentary? I recall a while back only getting the Channel 4 or ITV feed or whatever it was, and it wasn't great.

It's in the FAQs. It says if you choose English it uses 'non-sky' commentary, but if you choose other languages you can get Sky commentary. Haven't used it in a race yet to see how it works.

Like I said earlier, I still can't get F1 TV to run smoothly anyway. It keeps being poor quality as either the CDN is too far away or their adaptive streaming is too aggressive. So I might need to stay with Spark regardless.
