I forgot my iPad was set to download updates automatically and it has now installed iOS 8.4.1. Immediately, SkyGo AirPlay has stopped working. Meanwhile, on an older iPhone that mercifully still has 8.3.1, SkyGo and AirPlay to my LG TV still works perfectly.

Come on Sky. Sort it out!

I've had the same problem with the FIA WEC app... until today. My iPhone upgraded to 18.5 public beta 3 and it's now working. You might need to wait until 18.5 is released!

I can confirm, I updated my ipad mini to 18.5 public beta 3 and Skygo AirPlayed to AppleTV 4k running 18.4.1 instantly. Look forward to the General release for all my devices.

I updated my phone and pad wednesday to ios 18.4.1. I should have looked here first, but of course I was lulled into the thought that surely they have it sorted now, and any update will only add to the system's useability and security. Hahaha

I was on the phone to apple for over an hour earlier today, after the normal checks it was decided that the problem is with the app. Infuse worked fine, but SKY Go just passes the audio only to the AppleTV. Updated ATV also, no diff.

Airplay was working SO WELL until wednesday, connecting super quick and everytime. Even to my Samsung M7 smart monitor.

Now only the audio gets passed to the M7 even from Infuse.

Not impressed!! Come on SKY..!

I thought it was a skygo & TVNZ+issue as well given I could still airplay Netflix but, given ios18.5 public beta fixed the problem straight away I think the issue must have be with the Apple 18.4 update.

hi there Southland: how do you get 18.5, I mentioned your finding to the Apple people, they said it’s not available to me.?!

@doobre it's 18.5 public beta. It's pre-release software and respectfully, not knowing how to get it is a really good sign that you shouldn't install it. It could potentially create all sorts of other issues for you.

Agreed. Beta software can sometimes be challenging, especially if you're deep in the Apple ecosystem! I've got laptops, phones, tablets and watches, so going Beta on one device can lead to problems getting them to talk to each other. For now, I'm happy to wait for the full release.

While the iOS update might fix it, this still feels like an issue Sky should look into. If other applications (e.g., Netflix) continued to work OK, then it should've been possible for SkyGo to continue to work OK.

The official public release should be out soon, the public beta’s are only available if you sign up for the Apple Beta Testing Software Program which comes with some risks. I rarely install any of the beta versions unless i have read a positive review from someone who has fixed an issue i’m having such as this Airplay glitch.

Except it's broken video Airplay for the Safari browser which, of course, is an Apple product. If Apple were to fix this then you would expect it to also resolve the problems with the Sky app incidentally.

From what others are reporting here, it sounds like 18.5 will include a fix but it shouldn't have taken Apple this long to fix something that they clearly broke.

Looks like Sky might have released a fix for the SkyGo app. Version 8.0.11 lists under Bug Fixes: AirPlay support for iOS 18.4 and above…

Will report back when I’ve had chance to try it.

Also it looks like iOS 18.5 is nearly ready to go as my iPhone updated to it last night - not tagged as a beta, which means public release is imminent not withstanding any last minute bugs.
