Fabian: I've been meaning to get rid of sport for ages, once this came out i cancelled straight away.
Aren't all the RWC All Black's games free to air including all quarter finals onwards???
If i'm correct, i'm not worried about the other teams pool plays so why pay Sky for them.

HD and 3D are two reasons.

"Yeah, right". When do we get to see the 3D?

They will be in HD on TV3 and TVNZ won't they?

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Their letters are very confusing. After RWC I do not see any need at all to have SKY. Although if your a mad tv nut and are with Vodafone for internet and landline rental they do pay your upgrade to MySky saving you around $15 a month which seems to be worth keeping so you can record RWC.

Nikoftime: I pay for SKY basic through Telecom. Has anyone heard from Telecom about reduction in the SKY basic rates?

Seconded. Anything?

Sky's removal of espn in the news:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10733474

Shall we all ring sky and say we are cancelling our subscription because they took espn away from the basic package?

I subscribed sky basic + movie + HD ticket 2 weeks ago. what surprises me is that I can watch ESPN HD (but not other sports channels).

For me the movie channels are just a waste. Intend to keep the sport though.

I will be deleting Sport after RWC. Maybe sooner. How much of the RWC will TVNZ/TV3/Maori and Prime be showing? I want to see all ABs games and a few of the othe big games.

Looks like not much in HD  on TVNZ or Mediaworks  if any.  Wonder if the feeds on Maori TV will have Maori commentaries..

I see that the final is at 09.00PM.  Just for the poncy Europeans so that they can have  crumpet and tea while watching it at breakfast time.  When there's something on  up there we all have to get up in the early hours of the morning..

Is discovery included in the "Free-to-air" package? A frined of mine who was away for several months downgraded his sub to free-to-air only, to my surprise he could still get Discovery aswell as all the free-to-air channels, but nothing else. If this is true then I may downgrade as most of my "Sky" viewing is Discovery anyway, I can get other Docco channels like Disc Science on 3.6m dish which sky dont have.

They give you the "free" ones plus one other normally to try and tempt you back. It changes every month.

Try Vultr using this link and get us both some credit:

They don't give you the two SBS channels on the Sky free to air option. And for those that want Trackside that is now FTA off satellite.
