The way around it is for people to vote with their feet, but there is no alternative i/until the online services start up, if you want pay tv, and that won't happen unless they can secure content.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

4.  The screen shrinks to half-size and a loud promo shouts at me telling me about another show, as the credits start to run.

that peeves me off to no end.

just leave the end credits alone !!!

Can't remember the program, but another language was being spoken with subtitle in english bottom of screen , lo and behold up comes the catch up on isky logo, covering the words, so i never knew what was said.

Couldn't be bothered looking at isky to see what i missed. I was a bit tired but guess should've noted program and time and sent a complaint in.

Guess a lot of people this weekend will see what they're missing out on, lol.

I remember TV3 doing this a while back so really it's nothing new...  irritating though it is!

I don't know if anyone from Sky reads this thread. An "ask Sky" thread along the lines of the ask Freeview thread that ran a while ago would be interesting to put these questions to them and see if (unlike Freeview) they actually give a coherent answer to anything.

I suspect that they might listen. They are pushing hard to get uptake of SoHo as a premium channel and want to get the subscriber base up - I suspect they don't want a groundswell of comments on forums etc suggesting to potential victims, err I mean subscribers, that the experience is unpleasant.

I also had the spinning blue lozenge "available in HD" telling me a movie was available in HD screw up a film a while ago - I think it was Red River on Rialto - and given that I don't speak Chinese having an advertorial slapped over the top of the subtitles was really intrusive.

I'm not sure, but I think programs are actually delivered like this from overseas now. TVNZ does it with their programs, as does TV3, and I can't imagine them all somehow getting the idea at the same time unless something changed about the way they get programs delivered.
