Will that be $11.99 x 12 months for a 10 month season? Or can it be cancelled at anytime you can't bear to watch your team going down the Swanee!!

One thing I would like to add is that the true cost to watch the channel in HD is $11.96 + HD ticket $9.99. Plus if I'm reading between the lines correctly the second channel won't be HD?

So while they may not be making any money from the pop-up channel they will be by charging me the HD ticket.

It will probably still be the best option for me - with ease of use for recording games via the Mysky etc.

Does it say you need to but the HD ticket in addition to the Football channels?

The way I read it, is you pay $11.96 for access to the 2 new football channels, with the Premier League one in HD (not sure about the other), no need to buy an additional HD ticket.

SwansNZ - This is an assumption on my behalf that you will need an HD ticket in order to watch in HD. I thought this is the standard way Sky TV operate. I haven't had Sky sports in a few years (since they lost the EPL last time) and I recently added sports to our current basic package in order to watch the Euro & Copa competitions on right now. When I did this I initially forgot to add the HD ticket and I only had sports in SD. I didn't think to check  whether the soccer specific pop-up channels were in HD at that time. This all happened in a bit of a rush as the AB test had just started as well.

You may be right, I don’t know – Sky have not said yet. Wait and see I guess.

I have sport but not the HD ticket, and won’t be paying extra just to get HD.

You have no idea what your missing.  Sport in SD is not even worth watching.

Try watching 3News at 6pm and then watch the same show at 7pm on TV3+1.  Chalk and cheese.

I’ve had the HD ticket before, and while the quality is excellent, I already give Sky enough of my money.

I had one HD television and one SD television.  The difference was so stark that I went out and bought a new 2nd TV.
