I'd love to see live streaming of news channels like CNN/BBC/CNBC along with maybe teaming up with TimeWarner to offer HBO content - live streaming and/or access to their catalogue.

Had an online chat to Nicholas at the Lightbox Help Desk today, he suggests we ALL forward our suggestions, cripes and praises to: help@lightbox.co.nz and they will forward them onto the backend development technician team.

I struggle to believe that they don’t know already a large amount of people would love 5.1.
I’m guessing it’s cost minimization. Which companies think that approach will make them more money.

Guessing asking for an autoplay off setting wouldn’t hurt though, though expect it to fall on deaf ears.

I’m happy with their content range.

So in reference to my own post I forwarded my & others thoughts and suggestions. Just recieved a reply back:

Hey again,

Thank you for that. :)

I'll go have a chat with some people from the team and see what is possible!

Lightbox does have limitations to some due to the format the studios provide us, this is not something we're able to change from our side & are bound to the licensing agreements. Despite these limitations, Lightbox does work hard to try fix issues which are impacted by these factors, an example of this would be having subtitles. I hope this does provide a bit of insight to the way Lightbox works.

All the best. I hope you enjoy your afternoon.

Hayley
The Lightbox Team

So we shall see what the next update brings.

Licensing agreements.

See waste of time, buck passed to out of their hands.
Why don’t they ask for DD 5.1 version, live TV gets that version, overseas streaming companies get that version, they can do 60 Hertz frame rate so should be no need to convert sound to keep in sync.

And I don’t know what auto play has to do with licensing agreements.

Didn’t want insight to how Lightbox works, I.e excuses, would like improvements

The lack of 5.1 channel audio for movies might be a deal breaker for some customers. I can't see myself wanting to rent something like Dunkirk with only stereo audio. :-/

Pay the same on google play movies and you can get 5.1 sound.

Kinda surprised the lightbox upgrade did not improve the sound options.
