This is so typical of Sky. I to have lost the ability to a AirPlay from iOS. They really have been doing their best to frustrate their customers.

Is it just me or does the iOS apps have airplay disabled now? The airplay icon has gone missing today.

Yes looks like all casting ability has been removed, but now the guide actually has team names in it! One step forward two back, good old sky.

I noticed that as well, idiots, final straw for me

Chromecast still available and working on Android

Wonder if it has to do with iOS 14.5? Doesn't seem like something they would specifically remove

I just signed Sky another year. (25% discount). Notice a lot more content on Sky Go, then Sky on Demand.
E.g Sky on demand “The Equalizer” only brings up the movies, where Sky Go brings up the series as well.

Watching Sky Go to TV will be my main way watching, as it removes the adds, but I’m disappointed air play does not work. Found old chrome cast (the round one) and that is working.
Pretty sure air play is smoother then chrome cast, plus I have chrome cast plugged into power so it’s probably always downloading pictures in back ground when not in use.

I had high hopes with the new App coming out. It resolved some issues I had seeing the sky schedule due to MDM security  the new application was working well for us with airplay

we used airplay to watch sky on our spare tv so my wife could watch something other than sport on the weekends and it worked well

Dropping airplay is just dumb and let’s hope they are working on returning it ASAP.

It's as likely to be an issue with the latest IOS as a decision by Sky to remove it, unless it was broken and required redevelopment. Communication on the matter may well have improved the situation. It works on Android for me.

One thing I did notice with airplay is that it required the app to be open and screen awake to work on the new app. Whereas on the old one you were able to play and then turn off the screen. So maybe they are trying to get that functionality back. Poor form to remove it all together though.

I found that the last few times I used it as well.  I don’t think that’s a new thing.   That’s the only advantage a chromecast had.

new app worked well for me in the weekend, im running a 5 - 6 year old iphone too....

Remember theres two sky go apps... one allows casting....the other doesn't.

I streamed the rugby to my android tv no issue.... (tv is 3-4 years old too).

It’s back, just bad communication from Sky and obviously poor UAT on the initial upgrade

Yay, can put phone in standby, and put SkyGo in back ground and load other applics like web browser and it keeps playing on TV.

Where I liked it better then chromecast is can swipe ahead on play bar or back and it will start almost immediately. If go fast foward, rewind chromecast it could take a while to work it out, and sometimes just got stuck. It also starts playing faster on airplay.

Can unplug Chromecast for next rainy day now.

It's working a lot like the previous version of Sky Go. FPS is looking smooth again, also able to airplay and do other things on the ipad/iphone no need to keep it on Sky Go the whole time.
