The pricing on this is a nonsense, $56 a month for skysports online when it can be delivered via their  satellite pack for $29.

I'd really like to make this work and pay for the content; a NRL digital pass in Australia is A$89, iirc Sky NZ were looking for NZ$300 last year.

I'd like to watch some cricket and league; there are no circumstances in which I'll ever want to watch rugby union or motorsports. Sky seem determined to rort me here. It's like a supermarket saying if I want to buy some sausages, i first need to also buy some fish and potatoes or pay triple the cost.

Virtually all the content i want to watch can be obtained from offshore either for free or at a much lower cost, geo-blocking simply doesn't work. If they are relying on that they are screwed.

Raise your game fellas

NRL is free on Livestream.

Looking forward to watching it on the Apple TV 4 app this year!

In the past, you've had 24 hours from when you sign up. I was planning on using it tonight so I could watch the game tomorrow at home, although, I may not bother now....

This playing up for anyone at the moment? I can't seem to get any of the channels, was working up until a few moments ago.

Hope whatever it is, it's sorted before the rugby starts...

I was a big fan of the F1 season pass last year as a non SKY subscribing home, but unfortunately they've confirmed via email support that they won't be relaunching any Sport Season passes this year.

F1 is kind of the exception to the rule of "sport must be live", with it's awkward event times for our timezone, but I loved Fan Pass because it let me watch at my convenience and rewind when needed, SKY Sports 1-4 on FAN Pass just wont scratch that it.

To that effect, I've decided to buck the millenial trend and sign up to SKY and SKY Sport (free for 12 months) with the Vodafone offer, so uh, full HD PVR recorded F1 + more sports on top for the next month, here I come.

Sky TV trying to prove, once again, that they are just an abysmal company.

"WE’RE SAYING GOODBYE TO THE SEASON PASS...

There’s been a few changes here at FAN PASS and sadly we are saying goodbye to our F1® season pass. The main reason for this change is that the vast majority of fans are opting for the flexibility of our daily, weekly and monthly passes to SKY Sport channels 1, 2, 3 and 4.

The good news is you can still watch practice sessions, qualifying, and live race days from every round of the 2016 F1® season with FAN PASS.

To say thanks for your support, and to help get your F1® season off to a flying start, we’re giving you a free* month pass (valued at $55.99). The first round begins in Melbourne this month, so get amongst all the high-octane action, on us!"

Season pass for F1 last year:

  • $200. Initially $300.
  • Includes coverage for both Saturday (quali) and Sunday (race). Might have included practices as well... I can no longer remember.

Fanpass cost for this year:

  • 21 races * $15 for day passes = $315. This will get you race only.
  • 21 races * $20 for week pass = $420. This gets you the same as the previous fan pass.

Riiidiculous.

Doubtless they'll do the same for EPL coverage if they get it next year.

It's really crappy, just let me buy what I want at a fair price, don't force me to pay for everything in your bundle.

Last season it worked out to be about $10/race.  This season with only daily/weekly/monthly passes on offer it works out to be $20/race.

The value to an individual from watching practice sessions and the race proper would be dictated by what is an acceptable cost-per-viewing hour (or event).  Bearing in mind that watching a Grand Final of anything will cost you $15 to watch (or a test match etc etc) for 90 mins.  Different people will have different perceptions on value.

As I see it, Sky have removed managing a process that is not worth it. Seems fair,. For every one that complains, there are probably 10 who are getting more sport for their dollar. Swings and roundabouts. And a bit of Tall Poppy thrown in
