For me, the pause/rewind is huge. If not using a PC/Mac. In this part of the world, watching live is not an option often. If I could watch live on iPad airplay, and it records to the iPad, or I can have an OD of what was in the timeslot I paid FanPass for, that would be huge. Right issues maybe, although you can do that on a PC/Mac. Also, Fanpass was I assume a revenue recovery option, not meant to be an encouragement to get users off Sky. With the bite starting now for SVOD, they can revisit Fanpass perhaps, and make that a full product. PopUps, record, incentivise a 3 or 6 or 12 month Fanpass subscription. Many ways to skin a cat

Something like Now TV in the UK, can be easily done here.

Worth being on their mailing list :)

GET FAN PASS ON THE BIG SCREEN, WITH CHROMECAST 2
(only 50 left at this price)

No wires, no hassle, just HD SKY Sport 1-4, straight to your TV.

We know you love watching sport, but sometimes it’s just better when you can go large. So while stock lasts, FAN PASS is offering our best customers (like you), a Chromecast for just $19!* (Usually $69).

(Now sold out)

Now I just need to find out what the * after the price means...  Hopefully it is referring to limited numbers available, and I haven't signed over my left kidney!

Interestingly, when I revisit the offer page - http://chromecast.fanpass.co.nz/ - it now shows $49 including delivery, but still sold out.  $19 is pending on my cc

I bought one about a minute after I got the email and I got s confirmation email almost immediately. Looking forward to trying out Lightbox on it. I haven't watched it since AirPlay went down following the iOS 9 release.

I really want to sign up to Fanpass when I move into new house in 1 month. But just need them to add the pop up channels.

Fingers crossed they do this. Then Sky will start getting money from me.

I'm hoping they'll offer some sort of Olympic Games package, as I assume a lot of that will end up on pop-up channels.

Note that its live only, your coffee and visitors will have to be factored in, and if its at 2am you will need to get up

I though that you could watch a program via browser upto 24 hours after it aired.

There will be 12 dedicated channels for the Olympics.  I dont know whether that means none, all or some of Sport 1-4 will have any Olympic coverage.

You can watch the channel steam up to 24 hours back. Providing you are doing this on a Mac or PC, although come August , SKY will probably introduce a few new features

FAQ

You can scroll back UP to 24-hours – all programmes that STARTED in the last 24-hours should still be there for your viewing pleasure. Please, always check the start date of the programme (not the event, as these times often differ) before relying on this feature.

I would expect that Olympics would be less a rights issue than anything else, so cross fingers they have a FanPass Olympic option. BUT, that dilutes the Get Sky Now for the Olympics marketing tool. Which would be many ex Sky users grabbing it for 6 months ( and maybe keeping it if they add more value, etc) So I think not, now

$19 Chomecast has just been released again. Go hard, fellow Geekzoners (I'm not in the market for one).
