SQLGeek: Could a weekly pass cover 2 All Blacks tests? E.g. Sat 8pm kick off in Sydney (10pm NZ), then the next Sat 7:30pm kick off in NZ. It would work if it was 7 days from the minute you start, rather than Sat-Fri.
Killerkiwi2005: Me: Any chromecast support?
will rwc games have ondemand replays?
Leo: Hello
No, sorry, Chromecast is not currently supported.
On Demand replays will not be available, sorry. Only the live streams of each SKY channel is offered.
so close.... yet so far
DizzyD:
How can chromecast not be supported?
Any video that plays in the chrome browser should work??

I'm wondering this too. I'm hoping the time starts from the moment you purchase the pass. If so, we'll be using it this weekend to purchase a day pass which will cover the Bledisloe Cup match and the Netball World Cup final.

No not all video content will stream out via browser mirroring. The TVNZ on demand page proved this, with the pre adverts casting to the TV but not the show, despite playing on the tablet.

A smart TV or AppleTV App would top it off nicely...
Dead keen to see how well it works with AirPlay. May take it for a spin this weekend for the Bledisloe cup decider
Not sure it will... SkyGo certainly doesn't.

I must try that again. Its been fine for me, last tiem I used it was after one of these comments, and it was fine then.
Do you mean Airplay, or SkyGo in general?

DizzyD: Sounds great, hope its in HD?
Edit: Found the answer on their FAQ:FAN PASS uses technology that adjusts to the best available download speed for your connection from 400kbps all the way up to HD quality at 4500kbps on some PCs/Macs and tablets. On PC/Mac you can manually select the speed to best suit your connection or manage your data usage. Alternatively you can select ‘Best Available’ and we'll keep checking your connection and adjust to your speed so it's always delivering the optimal viewing experience.
HD quality (720p) is available on PC/Mac and tablet where the stream is 5mbps and above. To check out our video quality, go to our website and try the available highlights. You just need to register first but don't have to purchase anything.
This is good news to me.
Its just a shame about the cost. I may just signup for this weekend to see how it goes.

bcourtney:Jaxson:bcourtney: This isn't really something that is going to sell on price, it's the convenience of not being locked in to an ongoing subscription. For those that don't have Sky at all but wouldn't mind watching the RWC without having to sign up to Sky for 12 months. I can see how some might find this appealing.
6 weeks at $20 a week = $120, or $80 a month.
Sky sport at $50 rip off base fee plus $25 for sport = $75 a month, plus $10 more if you want this in HD (cos it's 2015 and HD is new and all). Plus more if you want a mysky box? Is this still the case?
That puts it at about the same price, but limited to just one sport type? with the satellite service probably being more reliable.
Weird business model, and you've got to be earning good money to support that.
I'm confused if you quoted me by mistake or just didn't read what I wrote. This isn't about price in comparison to an ongoing Sky subscription, it's about the convenience of being able to subscribe for a one off event etc without being locked in to a 12 month Sky satellite subscription. If I ditch Sky Sport (as I've been contemplating) then something like this could definitely appeal if there's an event coming up that I know I'll have time to watch.
groynk: Great news! Always wanted this possibility.
Pricing is as expected from them: unatractive, but may end up having to pay for convenience at some point.
I just paid $20 to watch ABs on Igloo last week, since my dad and I decided it was less than what we would spend at the pub. =Convenience
BTW, I recently signed up to sky on no contract for the u-20 world cup and canceled after one month $105 grand total, but it's a bit of hassle with arranging installation/cancelation (28 days notice) etc.
So I'm happy with the announcement; eyes and ears open for free trials/promotions now :)
