Worked fine on two Igloos. Download the image to a USB key.Insert USB key side or rear and then reboot. Takes about 15 minutes to finish download and do a signal scan. Works great as a DTT zapper.

Bugger - my box just boots as normal, then asks to use the memory stick for live pause

Sounds like you OTA or USB upgrade has failed. There is no live pause on the new software. When the Igloo boots up are there three Igloo icons or white circles?

Three white Igloo equals old s.w.

Three white circles equals new s.w.

Its still the old s/w

Check the USB key you downloaded the new software image to. It should have a file called PAC002_0016_001_004E.bin.SDL with a size of 31,525 KB.

Otherwise check you downloads folder of the PC you used to download the file . The the file "PAC002_0016_001_004E.bin.SDL" my be sitting in there and needs to be moved to the USB key.

Anyone had any luck installing this firmware from memory stick? I forgot an igloo box wasnt connected to wifi, and in the kids room.  oops :)

Did mine last night - took it out of the cupboard (it wasn't connected during the OTA update period) and ran the USB process over it and now its stuck on "Hang tight for a few minutes, your box is booting".  Left it overnight and it was still on there.  Reboot gives same result.  Called the 0800 number on the USB instructions page and they don't know what to do with it. They even told me I had called the wrong number then gave me the right number to call which was the one I had called them on.

Is the Igloo connected to the aerial? Perhaps it's looking for a signal during the boot up.

It was. I've given up for now and chucked it back in the cupboard. I'll have another go later just in case the aerial wasn't connected properly.

hmm

try a different usb slot rear or side. The image download will display a blue and white progress bar as the image unpacks, this takes 20 mins from menory. If it just boots up as normal (white Igloo icons) the Igloos not reading the USB key.

reformat the stick and check its a supported format for updating. I had a different STB that was cool with ntfs for actual use, but updates needed to be fat32.

Just received:

From 1st March, IGLOO will be closing down. We’ve got some important information to share with you to make sure you can still enjoy great TV with IGLOO until the 1st March and what happens after this.

HOW TO PURCHASE YOUR LAST CHANNEL PACK

From the 30th January, to purchase a channel pack, you will need to call our customer service team. This is because your last channel pack will be charged on a pro-rata basis and we want to make sure we get those charges right. So for example, if your channel pack expires on the 5th February, you’ll only be charged for 23 days to take you up to the 1st March.

Get in touch with our call centre on 0800 2 44566.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY IGLOO BOX?

When IGLOO closes on the 1st March, your box will get an automatic update to make sure you can still use the box to watch Freeview channels.  Once this update happens, you won’t have some functionality and technical support you normally get from IGLOO but you will be able to watch Freeview channels through your box.  What do you need to do?  Just make sure your IGLOO box is plugged in and turned on from 1st until 15th March.
