I saw the email from Sky come in a while back but didn't think anything of it. Then today happened and it really ground my gears. Did a quick google and found this great thread which summarised all of my feelings, so dug out me old Geekzone password and have copied the response I sent to Sky this afternoon, and the reply back this evening. The response was quick although brutal.

It is tough to stay with them, despite having a Sky box in the house and SSN for the sport.

Sigh.

I wonder if it’s a streaming rights issue or a technical issue? . They cant be that stupid and think this is a good customer experience

This is total garbage now.

They have set the V8 support series as one big event from 9am to 3pm. The Classic race started at 1:25pm so I log into SSN at 3:30pm when I get home from work to watch it. And..... I cant.

Because the "Event" started at 9am and finished at 3pm, at 3.30pm I can't watch any of it..................... It doesn't exist with a paid subscription. Probably does as pirate content somewhere.
SO why do I have Sky at all, I cant watch what I wanted to watch anyway, even after paying them to watch it.

I know Sky is bad, very bad..... but this really is beyond my severely low expectations from this dropkick outfit.

So the 6 hour starts when the programme starts, not when it ends?  I can see a huge amount of sport caught up in this.  I'd love for Sky to actually explain why they made this move because its pretty stupid from what I can see.

Yes it seems it starts form when the show starts, not finish, which is bad, but when the retards roll everything into ONE show, its totally utterly useless. 5 mins after the "event" ends, nothing is left available to stream.

And Sky explain?, I really think their tiny little brains cannot comprehend anything to do with any type of service being supplied for a fee.
Instead of making a great product and getting lots of subscribers, they are taking the path of no service, crappy product, and screw every the living sh*t out of anyone thats is still paying before they go broke

I’ve proposed to Sky that I be charged 25% of the monthly fee, seeing as I now only get 25% of previously 24 hours of rewind content. For overnight sports it cuts out the possibility of watching it the next day. Game starts at 1am, you can only access it until 7am. I’m guessing if you start watching on rewind at say 6:45am and the stream cuts off for any reason, you won’t be able to get back into it. Also means if a game is in during work, watching it in the evening after work is often out of the question. Ultimately the change means sky sport now is a live streaming only plus a few full replays, but that’s not every event so the full replays aren’t something to rely on.

Doesn't appeared to have happened to the SSN App on Apple TV. Is everyone seeing this on TV apps?

Only 6 hours on my ATV. You can see the guide further back but if you try to play something then nothing happens.

I think many of us would like to understand this as this change currently seems arbitrary and without need... I am yet to suffer from this issue but no doubt will as Sky Sports' ability to upload replays consistently early is a problem and as UK sport is played overnight - well it does ruin the event if you know the outcome before you start watching!
