I’m in a bit of a dilemma.

 

Should I swap out my (second) multi-room decoder (non recording) and pay $50 to get this new box?

 

I have a MySkyhdi that I paid $500 upfront for rather than the monthly rental. I would rather hang onto that one for use at the bach (no internet there). But I fear they will try and charge me the ‘MySky’ fee if I have two devices capable of recording. The whole “pay extra for recording capability” is a rort that belongs in the 2000s.

 

We have 3 4K Smart TVs in the house, so the app side of the new box provides virtually nothing. As does its “4K capability” when Sky provides no 4K content.

 

I guess I have until the end of June to decide.

 

I was told by Sky if I paid in full for the Sky HDi box and then upgrade to the new Sky Box that I didn't need to pay the monthly recording fee, the phone conversation would have been recorded if they try as say that's not true!!
