The change in how far back you can go in the planner really reduces the quality of what you get from SSN. As others have commented, a lot of weekend sport happens in Europe overnight at the weekend and those who follow US sports like to have the option of watching when they get home from work during the week. It is OK if uploads are quick and reliable. They are not. One of the NFL replays was mislabelled last week. The replay for Monday Night Football never materialised. There is only so long you can go without finding out the score. The effect of this is to make SSN attractive only to those who watch sport live. I have seen a lot more ads on social media this week for the new box and pod. I think Sky know what they are doing and are willing to take the hit on those who ditch SSN, hoping that more people will convert to the more expensive options.
Having experimented with IPTV over the weekend, I can now see why people complain about the picture quality on SSN. Some of the 4k streams I watched were amazing.
Fudge Sky.
Their responses are so disrespectful.
Just as I was coming around to them after a year or two with no issues, I'm off down the IPTV route
I have a great IPTV service, incredible picture, reliable as hell, BUT the only advantage to me for SKY is the on-demand catch up service that the IPTV doesn't offer, which for English Football is essential. So as they reduce that, and to be fair I haven't checked if their uploads have increased, but Spark Sport used to have ELP games up basically as soon as they finished.
I've just been forced to write an email to their support as I am dismayed by their product now. Its 11:25 and the Man Utd Vs West Ham game isn't up on full reply despite occurring at 2am this morning. EPL is a drawcard for them, but they can't even get replies up within a competent timeframe let alone the poor quality and low bitrate that they serve us at a high price.
I know they don't care and they have the market sown up but I just wish they would actually communicate WHY they do these things and do they care enough about us customers that use this service...
Grrr rant over!

I’m starting to think of other alternatives, I have to June when mine expires . Optus may be an option

Is that still happening? Horrible. I complained about that 2 years ago. Crazy how good Premier League Pass was in retrospect.
I have Sat TV so avoid all these issues but will probably skip off it unless they give me an even bigger discount next time.

All I will say is you'll never get an answer regarding why they do things because internally there's never any true communication. Regarding replays however if they haven't gone up by around 4 hours after the event it usually means a server issue (which happens more often than it should).
Got this from Sky FB Support this week, I pushed for more clarification but the next people answering my response were more vague

When will depend on how long they soak it in the salty water.
Please don't get my hopes up!
Comments made by anyone at Sky ('Nita' in this case) should be ignored unless there is a cite included to an official announcement from Sky NZ. As at 20:56pm on 28/01 I could not scroll back beyond 15:00 on 28/01.
So not implemented yet.

Of course, she doesn't say it's been implemented, just that they are bringing it back.
When I went back for more confirmation, a 'Selena' said "We are still waiting on the feedback that was given with regards to getting the 24 hour Playback.", I then showed her what 'Nita' had said and she replied with "I am aware of what Nita has advised, at this stage we have to wait on a date as to when this will be available."
It sounds like a decision has been made, but they're waiting for the implementation date.

I would just love them to increase the bitrate so their stream looks less blocky (grass etc.) at higher resolutions - I'm not expecting 4K quality but something that will look better on a 4k screen. F1TV is 1080p but the bitrate / encoding quality means the cars look good on the TV compared to the equivelent Sky Sports Now feed.
