hi there - I used Fan Pass to watch the last AB's test (27 Aug) and got a massive spike in Vodafone data usage - 32GB for 1 day.  Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks

Does anybody here know if rugbypass.com has all the Mitre10 cup matches?

Seems to me you stopped watching it but left it on?

Very possible - we went to a wedding the following day so definitely weren't watching anything, will be sure to disconnect next time rather than just turning off the tele.  thanks

I used Fan Pass to watch the ABs v SA test on Saturday and the experience on the whole was OK.

AppleTV 4, Bigpipe Fibre 100/20.

I had to restart the stream a couple of times (it just froze and the progress bar and wheel of waiting came up). One time I went through a different menu bit to restart it and it started about 10 minutes behind where I had been (weird). Going out and restarting the stream fixed it.

The freezing happened once in the first half, once in the second (luckily both times were during a break in play).

Picture quality was good, and it didn't seem as 'jerky' this time. I forgot that I was watching it on a streaming service actually, so that is good.

One gripe - the whole time, in the bottom left corner of the screen was two lines of text telling me what was on ('On Now - LIVE Rugby NZ vs SA ...) - I know what is on, I don't need telling. It looks like a graphic Sky has put there, but not something that is on the broadcast version (as it overlaid graphics as part of the game). Is this a new thing, or a streaming thing? what is the reason for it? @SeymourScagnetti

Hey Trig42,

Thanks for the note.

We are on it and we're not sure why it is happening in some instances.

Can I ask you if you were using airplay/chromecast or the native Apple TV App?

Cheers

Alex

Anyone had problems with the fanpass app on the Apple TV 4 with the lasted TVOS update? When scrolling through icons/channels they disappear as you go over them.

This also happens for the rugby pass app as well on the Apple TV 4. Same people that make both - Neulion.

Side note - RugbyPass advertise every moment of the mitre10 cup but don't have every game. I've contacted them about this. They initially said the NZRFU and sky TV were dragging their heels and it would be sorted a couple of weeks ago which still hasn't happened. I went back to them after as they are still not delivering on what they are advertising and I got no response.

I may take it further to the advertising authority in Singapore or Hong Kong and see what they have to say about it.

Neulion manages the actually content for RugbyPass so have beeen in contact with them.

Hi,

Unfortunately you are dead right that the iOS/TVOS update has caused us some unforeseen issues. Very disappointing overall and apologies to anyone affected. However, the good news is that we have a new build in testing already and are hopeful that we'll be able to push it live before the end of the coming week.

Cheers
Alex

Thanks for the update Alex.  Is this just the fanpass app or for Rugbypass as well?

I watched a bit of the cricket. The quality was fine, visually, but the panning was painful. I've seen this before. Other times its been as if I was watching Sky.

Watching cricket. It keeps freezing. back out, change to SS2, ok, then SS3, ok. Fixed. For the next 15 minutes.

Image quality is average, slow panning shows jerkiness.

Just me?  ChCh Fibre 100, ethernet to ATV4
