GeekGuy:

Interesting that the Wallabies vs England Rugby tests is broadcast in 4K on Stan tv.

I wonder if SS will upgrade.

I might look at Stan again .AU are so far ahead with quality for sport. I use Optus for EPL it’s brilliant $5 bucks a month last season

Bought the shares July august 2020. I think the 15.5 c figure your quoting is the low for last 52 weeks?

Stan is a great service, just watched 'From' in 4K on their network, and looking forward to watching the AB's v Ireland in it on the weekend.

I don't think AU in general are, just read some of the gripes over Kayo, Paramount + etc, but Stan definitely looks to be on top of their game.

Optus has just moved to $24.99 a month for the new EPL season, assume $5 was a some kind of discount linked in with another supplier?

Oh you must have got your decimal point in the wrong place? $1.36 in 2020 not thirteen cents

This won't be in 4K though right?

Theres no excuse for not having at least some sport (sourced overseas) in 4K at launch.

I won't be using it if its just offering Netflix etc in 4K as I've already got about 4 devices that can do that.

I feel your struggling to believe me…bought 50,000 share @13.6 cents. Sky then did a 10 for 1 share consolidation so now I have 5000 @ whatever todays price 2.36ish or your $1.36  (10 x 13.6 cents) in 2020 terms….now can you sort out the real issue with sky which is their sport streaming products are average and hurt my eyes to watch

Thanks JPNZ. I did read some of the post around image quality…I’m not that lazy. Just a bit hard to get a read on what everyone’s tv and internet equipment and geographic location is and if that was a factor.

I also thought I read somewhere on here that sky was or had improved the SSN product.

It sounds like streaming is dreaming for good quality sports with sky. Shame it can’t replicate satellite quality which really should be a basic target.

thanks for letting me know

Hi,

I'm in central Auckland on gigabit fibre -> decent Wifi 300mbps / Apple TV 4K HDR / LG OLED and the Sky Sport Now quality is terrible, blocky, fuzzy, at times impressionistic.

The same set up delivers immaculate HDR 4K from other services so there's nothing wrong technically.

I hope the rumours I've read here about them improving bear fruit I don't want to have to install a dish or a set top box or both?

-Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for your reply. I’m central Auckland too with similar i/net quality.

Im old(er)  55+ and have had sky set top box for donkey years. Other than rain fade drop out occasionally I have been very happy with quality of satellite feed and general image quality

This SSN product is a bucket of shite…might be a bit cheaper but what I save i will need to spend at specsavers and a phycotherapist to watch this…the shadowy motion of sport picture almost makes me nauseous.

I will drop SSN an email to see what if any surety they can give on planned improvements and when.

I couldn’t recommend this product to anyone…and I’m a sky shareholder

Sky really need to lift their game if there serious about this product for streaming sports.

cheers

Based on what they said about their inprovements to the android tv app mid month, they were also changing stream supplier, so maybe that will produce the magic,

My eyes must be broken, as I watched the AB v Ire, and no issues, and quality was good (android TV, Sony 65 X90G)

I have had issues with the white ball across the ground in cricket though, a but blocky.

They charged me the full amount without any emails or warning.

yeah, I had seen that - but no message this time, but $299 on the card statement

Would be nice for a reminder email 7 days out, saying it will renew etc.
What price did you pay for initially for your annual pass? was it $399?

I guess it’s what your used to viewing. The tv I have is LED and has good frame and refresh rates. In fact Panasonic market it as a sports and gaming  tv.

On Sunday I took advantage of the free SSN offer to watch the warriors. I watched the first 5 minutes and then turned it off and watched the rest of game on satellite. It was chalk and chees on my set up
