According to the FAQ, the new platform arrives on the 12th July - As of yet, haven't noticed any change with the website yet.

Query

SSN is for streaming sport. I record a lot of sport (on MySky). When I looked at Fanpass there was literally none or very very few replays, all you got were highlights. Is there a large swathe of recent full replays now?

Not enough / not quick enough to be up.

I do roll back the 24 hours in the guide and watch games from overnight, but it takes them a while for a full replay to show, and they are for limited games (which makes no sense) have to see if their new interface helps at all.

Thanks. I now recall the 24 hour rollback but that was only on a PC, ugh.

Yeah I’ve been keeping an eye out for that too - no joy. I wonder if that date hasn’t slipped.

So I emailed Sky complaining about the extremely poor quality and explaining my kit (1 gig fibre, ethernet Apple TV 4K, OLED 4k TV), and asked why I was compression , artefacts, blocking etc.

Their response - uninstall and reinstall the app!

I've explained that it is also happening on ps5 (running ps4 app), and that I am not alone.

Not paying for this!

Sounds like my experience. I will be interested to see what they say.

Just from SKY:

Thank you for contacting Sky Sport Now Support.

We'll be rolling out updates to the platform in the coming weeks starting 12/7. Please keep checking the app and website periodically for these updates.

If you need further assistance please let us know.

Sounds like they're struggling to push things out the door.

I'm also in the camp that unless the product improves dramatically, I'll won't be parting with $400 for 12 months of sky sports.

I have also been on live chat with them. They couldn't tell me what devices have the new upgrade already. All they confirmed to me was there is no 4k support nor any thought in the foreseeable future. Only upto 1080p dependant on Internet connection and no addition of 5.1 surround support to the new app. Just 2.0

I haven’t seen an update on my Sony android tv or any of my apple devices. Although I would suspect apple devices will be the last given that the App Store us said to be quite strict.
I suspect they haven’t rolled out anything yet.

I just hope the picture improves. I don’t know what they have done in the last few weeks. The picture used to be pretty good for me but not the
compression artifacts make it unwatchable. I just hope those aren’t a vision of the future. Just awful.

I’m in the 7 day free trial period. Last night when I opened the app it when thru an upload process for latest version of app.

I was then excited to watch the rugby to see if picture was improved. Picture was still average.

Maybe they rolled it out first to us new suckers trying to convince us to sign up.

On my set up I still maintain order of best imagery on tv is

1. satelite

2. chromecast skygo to tv from ipad

3. skysportsnow

Today I ended my 7 day trial so won’t be charged any subscription.

I won’t pay for that quality.

Look forward to seeing if other notice any improvement.

Funny, that was the same response I got when I complained about the same thing.

As I already have Sky with the Sport subscription there's a marginal saving to subscribe to Sky Sport Now if I were to cancel my Sky TV sports package. As both packages will be the same, and I'm happy with the current set up with my Sky box doing the recording - is there any point changing?
