So I emailed Sky complaining about the extremely poor quality and explaining my kit (1 gig fibre, ethernet Apple TV 4K, OLED 4k TV), and asked why I was compression , artefacts, blocking etc.

Their response - uninstall and reinstall the app!

I've explained that it is also happening on ps5 (running ps4 app), and that I am not alone.

Not paying for this!

Sounds like my experience. I will be interested to see what they say.

It keeps getting better - their next response :)

"As your schedule allows, turn off or "reset" your modem and router; you might have some bad patches/routes cached on your network device. A reboot of your network devices may solve your problem and will at the very least clear the cache.

Check for improvement after rebooting your network devices."

Perkynana:

I think so ..from the SSN faq page

With your SKY Sport Now account, you can access SKY Sport Now on multiple devices but you can only stream on one device at a time. If there is more than one device the first device will stop streaming.

Sometimes the current technology doesn't correctly detect you are using more than one device...

As of today, you *can* have multiple browser windows open on a computer & watch different channels.  (In the same browser)

Ridiculous! I bet that helped heaps. Not! I can’t believe they are not investigating the issue properly. It’s clearly compression artifacts.

Sorry - that's probably due to either my query to "support", or my twitter bump.

The next update to the FAQ should be this one:

What is the video quality like?

Answer:  Likely passable if you're still running 1080p devices ... but generally it's underwhelming ...

Lastly - There's a newsletter?!?! (Perhaps that's the thing that I blocked because it only ever told me about "UFC")

The only thing worse than the all blacks right now is the picture quality on SSN.

Mine was great. Apple TV. Fibre. Bad score, but picture quality was great.

Great quality here again tonight as well. Didn't help the result but there you go.

I've not had an issue with PQ. SSN is all I've had for a couple of years.

Maybe it helps that I've got a 13 year old plasma tv (also played through a NVIDIA Shield TV on 2 degrees fibre).

The plasma would have a resolution of 852x480??

Quality is crap on my phone (iPhone XR) but the game looked decent on my LG 55" TV, using the Sky Sports Now app on CoreELEC (minix neo u9-h).

You seem to be having similar issues to me.

Who is your ISP? What OLED do you have? Have you made any progress with issues?
