Tatou:

Thanks

It was all fixed by following their links

I just thought it strange that I had been using the Netflix app on the Skypod for a few weeks but tonight was the first time it flicked up that warning. I suppose it check the MAC address of the device finally against the account

Netflix does give more than enough time before it spits the dummy.

Also head over to your Account and go to Manage access and devices and delete devices you are not using anymore.

Deleted Vodafone

Now just have to get Vodafone to stop charging me for their cable internet as I cancelled it when I connected the POD to my new router and 2 degrees broad band. Sigh...........

Tatou:

Well that was new tonight

In the middle of watching the Diplomat on the Netflix app ( on the SkyPod) a screen appears saying the last accessed device was a Vodafone device and this does not appear to be your primary location.

In order to make the Skypod the device at the location I had to get a text with a link to go and confirm that the Sky device was at the primary location

After that confirmation Netflix continued. Netflix has been used many times since since the Skypod was installed.

I assume this is the stop password sharing process

I got an email confiming that this device was the primary location.

New Sky Box, HDMI Splitter issue sorted!

After talking to a real kiwi based Sky Tech I have sorted my HDMI splitter & CAT6 transfer system into the second lounge.

Needed yo go into My Hub, Android, Device Settings, Screen and charge setting from Auto (max resolution) to 1080i.

Quality not quite as good as main TV, but it certainly works!

I know none of Sky's content plays in 4K but can you play Netflix ok in 4K?

What type of HDMI Splitter do you have?

I pay for the 4K content from Netflix yet I cannot get it in 4K using the Sky Box. I can get it using the smart TV features i.e. switching input to built-in Android TV. What gives please?

Just got hands on the new SKY BOX, couple of photos one showing the comparison if anyone is interested, can take more if anyone is curious.

First reaction: really hope Sky makes these things faster, but all in all good to have a refresh!

OK - so I am confused.

I understand that HDMI splitters are problematic, but what about the old Sky-supplied digital to analogue splitters that then run the signal via coaxial/aerial cables?

Our bedroom TV doesn't have its own connection to the TV aerial, so Freeview doesn't work in there - as a workaround, we had the splitter put in by the Sky tech (about 15 or more years ago) which plugs into the aerial socket on the TV. Subsequently we get SD service in the bedroom, but it means that if my wife goes to bed and watches what i am watching in the lounge, we can view the same thing.

I'm reading through these comments thinking that if I get the new box, it'll be unable to provide the same service.

The conundrum is that as I am using the MySky+ service currently, the new box will end up $5 cheaper per month.

TV Guide page
Settings Menu

Cheers

ok i am already to send the new box back unless there is some way to limit what you record on series link. I record the IPL and with the old box you pressed record on the live games and linked them so it would record every live game, easy . On the new box it not only records the live games it records everything ,so i get every game highlights and every replay of full matches. i take it it is the same for the EPL matches and the NRL. in fact any sports.

ok even more annoying it doesnt cancel everything if you cancel the main one, you have to go through the whole planner to cancel the recordings

I noticed just that on MySky on the last F1 race weekend. Yes Id like to also series link F2 and F3, but series linking F1 did all that, plus some other F1 related stuff I wasnt interested in

I also recorded LPGA and it also recorded the second wave (which was very handy)

Very handy feature but it wont always be what we want, give us 1. Episode  2 Series   3. option of Related Stuff to select alongside 1 or 2

Ditto me for F1. What I now do is go into Scheduled Recordings for its series link and delete the ones I know I'm not interested in. I just kinda do five minutes of "housekeeping" on scheduled recordings for most series links each night before turning off the TV.

Ideal? No

A problem? No

I can confirm that Dolby Atmos is supported on the new Sky Box, just tested a Netflix, Disney + video and works fine via ARC for my Soundbar,

Hi,

I just installed the new box today. Be warned, your old decoder card will be de-registered as soon as you do that!
The radio channels do not seem to be on the channel list and presumably are only accessible in the Tune-In app which will be a pain as we use the sky box for radio reception. The RNZ app will not install/work in the new box.  If anyone knows that there is a simpler solution, I'd like to know.

Also in the App screen, is there any way to sort the apps into favouritism and in tunein save favourites. The sky hand piece doen't drag and drop and a usb mouse plugged into the box doesn't seem to do anything.

Regards

TC
