AbleArcher83: Some observations from a dish hater:

Sky Sport Now still has poor frame rate on all ‘live’ channels as well as some highlights. ESPN and ESPN2 have full frame rate and look great.

Mind you, Spark Sport coverage of the ENG RSA cricket has poor frame rate too. Even the highlights are choppy as.

Using A7070 dishtv smartvu+. Google TV Chromecast and AppleTV.

Experiment setting Apple TV (and the other devices if they allow) to 50 Hz video option.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Thanks but no joy. Tried adjusting frame rates on all devices. As others have pointed out, there is something in the SSN setup of their ‘live’ channels that is borking the frame rate. The fact that the ESPN channels are fine shows that my devices and TVs are not the problem.

Can you make a video clip of the issue?

Apple TV has an option to match the frame rate that is broadcast. That should be 50Hz anyway if SSN’s FAQ is to be believed. 1080p @ 50Hz according to them.

Regardless this is a consumer product. The regular consumer is not going to play around to fix this stuff… Sky does need to sort this out. Even their own SkyGo app is much better with frame rate.

The last time I tested with Apple TV on 60 Hz and had match frame rate on using Spark Sport app the setting didn't work. Setting to 50 Hz resolved problem. I've tested with Spark Sport on both Apple TV 4 and 4K. Spark Sport is completely fluid on an Apple TV if set to 50 Hz. I admit SS did have some choppy 25 fps content.

P.S. I'm not paying for SSN just to test. If SSN is truly only 25 fps, hence choppiness, then dump the service.

Updated version of SSN on Apple TV and my Sony Android TV. Playing content up to 24 hours old from the guide now plays the selected program correctly.

No symbol next to the sky logo on SSN tonight for the ab's game, maybe passing it straight through from. The sat feed?

Is the AB games a juddery mess for anyone else?  Currently got it on the PC rather than the TV and it looks rubbish and is quite jerky.

Also have a lot of shuddering. But in between the image is a lot better than last week which was quite pixelated. Agree replays not the same quality

So tried it on the Android TV and it was working much better than via the web browser... Sky really need to up their game, not only in terms of the delivery of the content but also the app.. the android TV one is so bad; cluttered, unstructured, content is just dumped rather than ordered... needs so much more work.

Came back tonight to give it another crack. Apple TV and is very good. No issues. Right now we have a Netflix stream, a Disney + stream and a Fortnight game going on. I’m surprised it’s ok. I will watch the second half on Sky Go airplayed to the ATV to do a comparison.

Interesting. They seem to have an extra feed. Two different feeds for the AB’s game. One with the symbol through the guide and a senate ‘live’ feee without the symbol. You can see from the live now red box it says 14. Usually it’s 13. I wonder if you are right. I wonder if that is a better quality feed in response to complaints.
